    Torbjorn, and AFK

So I was just in a game where x2 Torbjorns, were on defense. They both just dropped Turrets and went afk. Between them both, they were responsible for 56 kills, including the POTG where you can clearly see one both Torbjorns, just standing next to their turrets not firing, nor repairing. They were on my team, we got the win, but they both admitted in group chat they were just afk watching a movie, and when they heard the cry that the turret had died, they just re-built it and went afk again.

It's both funny, and frustrating all at the same time. Personally I think it's BS> I think he should be re-worked. My suggestion is dropping the lvl 1 turret, but require scraps to upgraded it to lvl 2. Dude was proud that he was just soaking xp, while watching a movie just to open loot boxes. We don't pay monthly for this game, so on one hand people should be able to do what they wish, but on the other it just seems very broken to me. Anyone else experince AFK Torbjorns? or similar situations?

He used to need scraps to upgrade to lvl 2, that was no fun, IMHO he is ok as he is, the thing that bother me is... if he is not doing anything, why not show the Potg based on the turret and not him.

The bad ones here are not the 2 tobjorns, the bad ones are the enemy team cause they couldn't do much about it...

That doesn't mean Torbjorn is overpowered. I NEVER play him, I almost exclusively play Mercy but I can tell you Torb is not a problem for most people with experience in the game. Even as Mercy I can mow down a turret with my pistol in a single clip. Just have to not be an idiot, and actually pay attention to team compositions.

Sorry but if that's true their team just sucked major dick.

I think they might need to change something about him. He's just too OP as it stands right now.

Im not sure i'm saying he is OP, and yes the other team should have took them out faster, but being able to rack up xp/kills/potg etc, while afk just seems like BS to me

The only time its annoying is when its 5 Torbs and 1 Mercy, most frustrating thing ever cause they can literally spam their left click into any hallway or passage and their sentries destroy any attempt from the air. We managed to pass it once with 6 Winstons and just shield spam on the capture point lol

Yep like im talking "can't aim 2 pharah rockets" level of dick suckage. Seriously. Even finding great torbjorn spots has a weakness - the afeared human brain. If one enters your game on the opposing team and picks Zenyatta, Pharah, Soldier:76, Hanzo, Junkrat or pretty much any other hero, then say good bye to ever getting value out of torbjorn.

Against any team that's actually paying attention, that wouldn't work.

Oh, is that why he's considered trash tier on moderate to higher skill levels of play? Silly me

    1) This probably didn't happen.

    2) Even if it did, the other team was just bad, it's very easy to take out the turrets, especially if the player is AFK so they aren't repairing it.

    3) Even if it's real and the other team was bad, the Torbs weren't entirely AFK. The AFK kick timer in this game is incredibly harsh, I've been kicked in the minute it takes to get up from my chair, get some water and come back. They may not have been playing a ton but they weren't AFK (unless they were tabbing back in every 30 seconds to a minute, that would be annoying as hell to do and not worth the effort).

Long story short, Torb isn't OP, people just don't understand how to play against him properly (big shocker when people are still learning the game).

If enemy team couldn't deal with 2 turrets it simply an issue of skill, not of champion

his turrets do have more or less perfect aim, they can take quite the beating especially if they are molten cored. they need blind spots, they should be rewarded for good placements not rewarded for having one up anywhere on the map

^ This. Or lesson the AI on the turrets some. Ive seen turrets, 360 turn kill, including turning whilst shooting at a full health target just to turn and kill a low health target flanking it. Yes, if you have a good team you can take them out fairly well, but my point was not that Torbjorn is OP, its how people set the turret go afk, soak xp/kills/potg. Almost like its just an AI npc, instead of a team member. I like the idea of a turret, but when your turret does 90% of your damage, and you are not actively aiming your weapon (yes I know the turret is a weapon), I call BS IMO. I like Torbjorn myself, but his Turret is just cheese, and I personally wish they would rework the mechanics of it.

1- This did happen, and I know other payers have seen it before. Not like its a one time ocurrance.
2- Yes, the other team was bad, but not all turrets are "easy" to take out, especially if its a solid group. The turrets have 300 health in level 2, and can stand quite awhile if not being directly attacked.
3- Let me clarify, by afk I meant semi-afk. I assume they had some system of strafing to avoid the afk timer, I didn't ask. And I never stated once, he was "OP""

As Reinhardt I can say Torbjorn is just a counter to players like a low wall is to cletus spuckler.
Sure you will have a hard time killing it solo with a flanker, but there are like 10000 ways to counter Torbjorn, but this would require people to adapt and switch heroes and sometimes to team up.
    Something that must be impossible.

The easiest way is to get a Tank and a Pharah/Soldier.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Here are 10 things torb players like to do while waiting for molten core:
    1. Setup turret
    2. Scratch their ass
    3. Pick boogers and flick them
    4. Text their crush
    5. Open a tab on their browser and search for Zarya porn
    6. Check on turret, if destroyed build a new one
    7. Check if crush has texted back yet
    8. Spray paint a wall
    9. Yell at team for not pushing the payload
    10. Activate Molten Core

We played on defence with 4 Torbjorn, 1 Bastion and 1 Symmetra for fun and completely obliterated the enemy team once.

Also tried 6 Torbjorns and worked quite ok.

I find Symmetras Laserthingies more annoying. The only time turrets pose a Problem is when they are far away in a sorta Sniperposition, with crossfire or during Molten Core because they have 900 hp then (and more dmg).
Pharah with well-aimed rockets, D.Va if they aren't too far away or a Widow can easily deal with them, especially if there is someone in front of them. Even 76 can take it out relatively easily. Helixrockets may even dmg Torb while he tries to repair.
Maybe him getting scrap with his shots instead of having to pick shit up would make things better. Shooting Scrap to collect it could maybe be done, too. If you manage to get scrap it's either far away from their spawn, or they attacked agressively and got wiped. If they push you, then you can't even collect the remains.
