Block them, should prevent you from queueing with them. I hope OW's queue works like that. over time it should improve your team matchups.

I did block them & clicked on avoid player.
2 hours later got into a game with that person again. tried to avoid player & block and it said I already avoided him.
So blizzard's shit doesn't work.

they are advisory only. I've won games with 6 stacked mercy.......and lost games with balanced comps.

You asked them to sacrifice their experience so you could have a better one. Why didn't you swap to what the team needed to offset the fact that they wouldn't swap? An ENTIRE team lost because two people were countered by two OTHER people on two teams of six? That's the ONLY reason the team failed to win? Get over it and yourself.

It wasn't targeting them specifically. The advice is about the TEAM composition. Not "just those two guys playing characters I don't think they should be allowed to play because I've spent 13 hours playing a game for 'fun' but didn't have a good time because I feel like micromanaging people on the internet'. BUT IT IS MADE THAT WAY(See I can do caps too). What it says on the side does not mean shit. Those (Tips) are recommened but not required. You do realize that people won tournaments and didn't fallow those tips right?

The fact you have the ability to do so makes it a option.

I think are going to be disappointed when ranked is available come the end of the month. People won't magically start making better decisions. The same people who frustrate you today in quick match will be in ranked, too.

You only have to look at HOTS ranked to see this at work. People auto-locking low win rate heroes, people refusing to fill as 5th slot, teams who think it's amusing to draft 4 specialists, people who AFK the entire game...

Nothing changes just because it's ranked (unless you're very much at the higher end of things, where people tend to want to try). You'll still be seeing those Symmetras on attack, those auto-lock Widows who couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo and those Reinhardts who don't use barrier to block ults like Tactical Visor because they're too busy trying to melee Tracer or Genji.

So this might be a bit of a whine post to some of you but I am actually really curious about the reasoning behind the play style that people have.

Yesterday I played for 13 hours and I ran into A LOT of people that were either stupid on purpose .. not.

One of the examples was attack on Numabi.
We get an insta lock widow and insta lock hanzo.
Neither of them wants to switch and after 3 people asked if they could please switch we got an answer saying "I pay for my game so I play what I want".
After saying this is a team game and this is just going to make us lose they said "Don't care, play what I want".

We ofcourse lost quite hard as the enemy genji and winston just destroyed them and they refused to switch.
After looking at their profile's you could see that they hardly played any other hero's but those.

Another example would be an hour later attack on Temple of Anubis.

My self + 3 others pick Winston - Winston - Pharah & Lucio .. so kind of rushy to get trough the first gate.
Then number 5 locks in Hanzo & number 6 locks in .. Hanzo.

Again asked if they would mind swapping to something useful as these picks would be absolutely shit on this map on attack and in the comp.
We carried them into point A and then actually won point B in a rush while the 2 hanzo's were still at the gates trying to fight a sniper on their team...
After being asked what the hell they were doing we got a "Having fun"..
(this was solo queue btw. I don't know the other 3 people that actually played).

Example number 3.
Attack on route 66.

I lock in Pharah because I had been playing reinhardt, mercy, lucio and Winston all morning and wanted something different.
I get an insta lock soldier76 by 2 people and a widow, hanzo & reinhardt.
So I asked the soldiers if one could please pick a healer as I had already been playing tank/support all morning.
Absolulte silence from both of them so I inspected their profile.
1: Had 36 hours on soldier and less then 10 min on 2 others (no play time on anything outside that).
2: Had 20ish hours on soldier few hours on roadhog and no play time on anything else.

We were losing the game till someone else went mercy instead and we pushed it to a win in overtime.



I understand you want to have fun and you paid for your own game.. but not communicating, switching or even counter picking is losing you the games.
You are playing to lose if other people are not carrying you..
I just can't understand why people refuse to actually play WITH your team in a TEAM based game.

thing is, that the other team has the exact same issues.

The perception is that your teams suck and the other teams are great....sorry, but everyone has the same chance of getting a balanced team. the only common factor is you and your attitude. So if you are not winning at least 50% of your games, or you are getting frustrated or angry, then thats on you and your attitude. Not your teammates.

After all, you are unlikley to get matched with the same teammates often, but you are always in your games....

That's true, luckily I don't get groups like this often and if I do, worst case I just end up filling a needed role and we typically do fine. Sucks to watch your offensive WM accomplish nothing but really nice when you don't have to worry about their Winston who's constantly jumping onto the point alone into a quick death. Plus if your team comp is really bad the game is usually over quick and the computer will just fiddle with the teams to try and make it more fair (assuming the losing team doesnt all bail). And if I really don't want to play the healer then I accept that we will probably lose and that's as much on me as anyone else.

I actually fill any roll that's needed, Lucio/mercy, rein/road/Dva, torb/junk and reaper/phar are my prefered heroes that I jump with. I am HORRIBLE with hanzo/widow I've tried playing them and not fun at all for me.

Also, Avoid this player doesn't work if their aren't many people queued up or at the same MMR as you. They WILL put that player in if they're unable to find another.

But once again, I'm not the one trying to force my ideals on you, I agree that not swapping is bad and can hinder your chances to win. Trying to force people to change though isn't the right thing to do either because they are allowed to play how ever they want. If you have a problem, bring it up with blizzard so that it's a reportable offence for them not to listen to players bitching that they aren't playing right.
