Exclamation paypal refusing refund to a "troll" who donated 50k to twitch streamers

    iNexus_Ninja "anthony" topic below
a quote from australian federal government agency when they sued valve for refusing refunds to australians
    https://www.accc.gov.au/media-releas...epresentations
“It is a breach of the Australian Consumer Law for businesses to state that they do not give refunds under any circumstances, including for gifts and during sales. Under the Australian Consumer Law, consumers can insist on a refund or replacement at their option if a product has a major fault.”
for my self i was refused a $181 refund when my iphone case was not delivered from ebay then i was banned from paypal for "asking for too many refunds" so i reported them to accc who told me they offically logged it but i would need to go after paypal my self

    similar situation here with anthony
regardless of why he spend 50k if he disliked their videos as a reason for "product has a fault" since the product he spent 50k on was twitch streamer videos
it is illegal for paypal to refuse refunds to australian citizens

accc would take more notice to his 50k loss from paypal than my $181 he needs to report them to accc (i told him on twitch)

He deserves it and this needs to happen more often. These trolls donating huge sums of money and refunding it are cancer in the twitch community.

I've heard (all humours) it's a young lad that used his parent's cards to donate to (in my opinion) horrible streamers.

I'm sad that the streamers will probably get this money.
I'm sad that the parents lost 50k.
I'm sad that the parents raised such a person.

But I'm glad that a lesson will be learned from this episode.

Story is fake, on his twitter it's confirmed there were no chargebacks.

He's apparently very good at blackjack, so the money is his own.

Paypal always seemed like using cash to me for the most part unless you have a credit card attached to it or something. If I'm unsure how safe the purchase is, I always use a credit card.

The product didn't have a major fault. He got what was coming to him.

Your poll selections have a very distinct smell of tears, how does not not suffering equate to being a sheep? Maybe the people that haven't experienced it don't but shit iphone cases off ebay or troll people for large sums of money. I love that they refuse to refund the money, abusing the system to upset other people might seem funny, but this is so much funnier. I hope he never see's a cent of that money back.

his parents don't deserve it since it is their money
it's illegal for paypal to refuse a refund regardless of what he deserves
his parents need to contact accc (the federal police of the consumer industry that rules over australia)

he is lucky he is in australia
if he was not in australia there would be nearly no chance for a refund

a bank policy overules paypals policies and the bank in australia as the law on their side to assist people in getting refunds

his parents need to contact their bank and say their card was stolen
    and/or contact accc

    where is the source?
i should contact yahoo and show them it
if his gambling was not lawful(not through any lisenced companies or casinos) then the law can't help him get a refund

    I must be getting old.

I can't follow the format or syntax of the OP's writing style.

That's an entirely different situation, actually. Not liking something doesn't mean its faulty. If you buy a computer game on DVD (pretend its 10 years ago !) and the disc is cracked, that's a fault. You're entitled to a refund. If the disc isn't cracked, but you just don't like the game, that's not a fault. You're entitled to jack shit. Some companies might be nice and give you a refund or store credit anyway, but it's unlikely (especially if it's an online game etc).

As twitch donations are donations rather than payment for any type of product, it's hard to imagine a scenario where they could be determined 'faulty'.

Well in his case it was a donation. Donating means to give someone money without anything in return. Paypal has every reason not to refund his money as he did not buy a product so that law is null in this case.

Maybe have a less biased poll next time if you want a more constructive discussion.

I think the real story here is that you spent $181.00 on an iphone case.
