Just tuned in a few minutes ago for the second match between Gale Force and Big Gods and pleasantly surprised. Match was entertaining, very close - also due to mistakers on both sides - and Wolf/Dreadnaught doing a good job commentating.

They really need to add an additional qualifier for regions like Australia and SEA so they're not guaranteed a spot in the World Championship. Every tournament the first few matches are always teams stomping over Latin American, Australian and SEA teams. It's a waste of time for everyone involved.

Yeah, I'm not saying those regions should be excluded, but there should be an additional qualifier between those regions and only one of them should actually go to the world championship or something.

Instead of doing that, how about pushing those regions to make more teams? Give them better rewards and etc.

Those regions are way too small, it would be stupid to give them the same or more money than in EU/US/KR/CN where the competition is much higher.

It would help to keep unnecessary match-ups and pointless games out of the world championship. Just pumping more money into a region isn't magically going to make it better.

But you have to treat each region with equality no matter how shit they are. Honestly, they pretty much do this with the first day or two of the championship.

They already don't treat them equally by sending more teams from NA/EU/KR/CN (2) than those regions (1). I mean, sure, everyone deserves a shot but the way it works right now you have at least 2 dead weight regions in every world championship who never win a single game and are just there for the sake of being there. Besides the actual teams the world championship is also meant for the viewers, and they want to see some good games and not roflstomps (unless it's a good team that unexpectedly gets rolfstomped).

They need to do something about it or make it so that whenever you unlock a hero it's unlocked on every region so people can actually scrim internationally, so those small regions actually have some decent competition to practice against. As it stands they just dominate their own weak scene and then get completely bodied each time at the worlds by teams from regions that are actually competitive .

Mostly because those regions are more competitive. The Big Gods showed up, the rest maybe not, but hey. I would rather have that then not. The first/second day is to stop the bad teams from staying there, thats seems to quall the problem for you. There is a reason they did make it not just two day championship.

Though I do agree with you, HotS should not be region locked. Like whats the point?

Don't get me wrong. The series was close and great, but I find it unprofessional to show such bias.

They have to know what they want to show before the game even ends, so they are not even sure who is even going to win. They seem to try to have a highlight of pieces of the entire game, and GFE had most of the highlights early/mid of the game. And nothing MY did was very show worthy, besides a hook here or there, Khroen had the most flashy plays.

Though the thing I am upset about is that Khaldor did not cast it :/.

Doubt there is a strong nation basis; they will be aware that - at this time of the day - the vast majority of viewers will be in Europe. On the other hand, an entertainment product sells better with a memorable face, and an American would be an obvious choice over guys from Bulgaria or China.

Still don't understand that Dreamhack is unable to present the games in a spoiler-free format on youtube. Even if a series ends in two games, upload a third 'dummy' replay. It's not rocket surgery, you know.
