How would you feel if the military took over the Republican and replaced Trump with an honorable idealistic patriotic military person like Paragon Commander Shepard or Honor Harrington. The GOP would no longer be the party of businessmen it would now be the military party.

Why can't the military take over the democratic party and replace Hillary with Commander Shepard? I'm sure there is an awesome, well thought out, point to the question, I'm just not getting it.

Seems to me, if you're talking about a Gaddafi-like leader, the Democrat Party is more likely to go with that kind of tyranny than the Republican Party.

The military is not a hive mind. Not its individuals members. While most have certain shared ideals, they disagree on other ones. So one party might appeal to a soldier and another to another. Otherwise it would be Military Junta.
Furthermore the US government was intentionally designed with the Military being apolitical and subject to civilian oversight and administration. The military directly entering the political process would be essentially unconstitutional.
And finally, the military and those with a military background only make up a fraction of the population, which would significantly limit the political appeal of such a party. It couldn't win elections...but if it didn't need to win elections...that's called a Military Dictatorship, once again, unconstitutional.
I'm surprised you seem to be aware of who Honor Harrington is (I mean at least you can read)...but you still manage to come up with these dumb ideas.

at first, they would never get elected. But once a commander does, it's over.
We have our shitheads, but overall the rest are solid. Few politics. Just numbers and straight fact. And we would rarely go to war. But when we do it will be scorched earth.
Of course, we'd waste money like mad, but congress already does that so no loss.
