Got me thinking. What is the correct term?
Literature calls it a head transplant.
By technical standards (Depending where you live) it should be called body transplant since the patient (the head) is receiving a body.
But everybody calls it head transplant anyway.
I would argue in most cases the organ being replaced is the defining term, but this is not a single organ.
The head will still be alive as its original "owner", the body will not.
So in my opinion it is a body transplant.
Though the term head transplant is more attention grabbing, so I can see why it is the more popular term amongst the media particularly.
Please consult the head of vecna.
Technically the direction is based on the recipient. So a "heart transplant" is when an existing person gets a new heart. Since there's no brain from the neck down and therefore no person to receive the "new head" it would technically be a "body transplant".
But people call it a head transplant because SCIENCE!!!!
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.
