I could say end of the line by the traveling wilburys, roy orbisons's you got it, the guess who's undun, alice n chains i stay away etc etc..

The song i pick for all time is, Gotye-somebody that i used to know. Undoubtedly my pick might be different if youtube existed back in the 50's and 60's, but for an overall experience i have yet to find a song to surpass this masterpiece.
No one song is the best. It's easier to point to an entire album rather than a single song, because the album is the whole and a song is a part of it.
And even then I don't know.

The one I'm going to go with had a big impact on me recently, and I can't stop playing this song.

    Disturbed- The Sound of Silence

It's actually a cover of a Simon & Garfunkel song. Gives me chills every time I hear it.

A large portion of Bob Schneider's library. Pretty much pick one.

    Too many to list...

But "American Pie" by Don McLean would make a top 100 list easy.

This is not the correct forum for this topic, OP. We have a forum specifically for all non-video game ENTERTAINMENT MEDIA DISCUSSION.

OT: I feel there are three contenders for me-

"The Amorous Humphrey Plugg" by Scott Walker

"The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady" by Charles Mingus

"Summer's Last Sound" by Disco Inferno

I listen to way too much music to pick a "greatest" song.

Picking one song? That's next to impossible for me.
Suppose, I gotta go with the tune, that's written in my will to be played at my funeral.

"The pen is mightier than the sword.. and considerably easier to write with."

    Twinkle twinkle little star
    Row row row your boat
    It's bitsy spider
These all come to mind immediately.

    We have all sung them.

ooo...thinking outside of the box...well done!

The "Happy Birthday" song became public domain recently...(I never knew that it wasn't)

Not that far outside the box..
Because people outside the bo.... errr... US and Engl territory don't know those tunes.
Row your boat probably because of the Startrek camping scene.

There's no greatest song of all time. The target moves so fast, I might be able to narrow it down to the greatest song of the last couple of hours.
