Night elves don't have enough resources ... where is their future?

To be fair, Trolls (the playable ones) are actually united under a single leadership and posess the means to develop and train younglings. High Elves have no unity, no way to develop and lost numbers like crazy in recent years. The Silver Covenant, which is nothing but a single bunch of them behind Vereesa's mantle, look way more numerous than they probably are.

True, the trolls are united but... they suffered when they battled the sea witch. They fought during the battles with the Legion and at Mount Hyjal. They were the race getting the blunt of admiral Proudmoore's attack. Then, some voodoo doctor enslaved a bunch of them and many of the free ones died battling the zombie ones and to retake their islands. Now, when all that is done, Garrosh comes, imprisones a bunch of them in concentration camps and kills many, they attack hum and form the bulk of the resistance where many die... no matter how many were originally, the Darkspear trolls can't be that many left.

Since we had no official numbers in regards of how many they were originally, nor of how many losses they actually endured during all these events, everything falls to assumptions and anectodal evidence. One thing is sure, right now Darkspear Trolls have training grounds where they form new bloods, High Elves simply stagnate in their fractured micro-societies.
