Uhh, propaganda is an extremely powerful tool that can turn the tide of pretty much any battle. Of course propaganda alone likely won't win, but good propaganda is a huge boon. Good propaganda is what gets civilians fighting for your cause, good propaganda is what gets other countries supporting your cause, and good propaganda is what demoralizes your enemies.

I meant the armed resistance to the coup, ie... the other part of the military. Some military leaders denounced the coup, but you don't see them moving against them. That's either smart, because they avoid actual open conflict that would put Ankara and Istanbul to rubble, or they want to see how far this is going.
