I disagree. Both the wording and the structure are so close to one another that Michelle Obama's speech was obviously open in front of whomever wrote this.

That said, and I say this as somebody who is vehemently anti-Trump: I couldn't care less. If it were Trump himself we could talk, but I really don't care about the speech a candidate's wife gives. I'm more annoyed by the Trump campaign's "what? Issues? Us? No you must just be stupid" attitude. But then again that's the attitude they've had about every issue they've had for as long as the campaign has existed, so there's no sense getting worked up about it now.

It's not a big deal, but I'm not going to try and say that it didn't happen. It happened, and we are getting a good laugh out of it. It will be forgotten within a week, and we will make fun of the Trump campaign for something new. The truly hilarious part of it all, is those that are trying to deflect from it, it's apparently quite the big deal for guys like you, since you feel the need to pretend it didn't happen.

I never said it was fine, did I? If you want to accuse them of plagiarizing, then lying about it, be my guest.

This is the adolescent equivalent of getting caught watching porn or masturbating, then trying to deny that it happened. EVERYONE knows what you were doing.

Huh? You're not even making sense. Michelle Obama can't plagirize from herself... Unless you have evidence Michelle's speech was plagiarized, which by all means please present it.

So yet again with the deflection, trumplings can't accept when their God-King has been proven fallible.

    Color me shocked.

I don't care about any of them doing it. They are all a bunch of (insert favorite derogatory term). I just can't stand the blatant bias by people. The people are all getting played and are fighting with each other while the ruling class continues

The more i think about it the more i'm convinced that everything trump does that on the surface looks like hes woefully incompetent is all done with the expertise and craft of a master level troll hard at work. The Media and liberals take the bait every time, so i'm not sure why he would change.

I have no desire to cane her, but I will mock her. She copied a speech from 8 years ago, you should defend her at all costs, by deflecting.

What's far more telling is how the Trump campaign failed to properly pre screen the keynote speech that his wife presented. I mean, he's running for the highest office of the most influential country in the entire world. He keeps telling us "I'm going to hire the best people, and they'll give me the best advice."

We've seen absolutely no evidence that he's going to run a competent general election bid.

Yeah, you're not making sense. Nobody is making fun of the content (as it would be self defeating, being as it came from Michelle Obama), they are making fun of the fact it was plagiarized.

If don't even know what you're talking about, I suggest you just stop now.

He isn't very good at public speaking, which I assume you are trying to claim, so I'll have to disagree with you. No one lately has been though, outside of Bush when he declared war or terrorism, but most other bush speeches were crap.

You just know that Trump is dumb enough to say "When will Michelle Obama apologize for Meania's plagiarized speech?"

Alinsky wrote, in Rules for Radicals (emphasis added): “The standards of judgment must be rooted in the whys and wherefores of life as it is lived, the world as it is, not our wished-for fantasy of the world as it should be.” Michelle Obama said: “And Barack stood up that day, and he spoke words that have stayed with me ever since. He talked about ‘the world as it is‘ and ‘the world as it should be.'” (Perhaps Mr. Obama who left out the attribution.)

And Obama ripped off people too.

    BTW Hillary does it too

Hillary Clinton: “No bank can be too big to fail, no executive too powerful to jail.” After the Obama campaign accused Clinton of stealing lines in 2008 — a claim supplemented by The New Republic, which accused her of stealing lines from then-Sen. John Edwards (D-NC) — she ought to have learned her lesson. But in 2016, she stole lines from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who responded by telling NBC News’ Meet the Press, jokingly: “We’re looking into the copyright issues here.” Clinton was accused of lifting other lines, too — and Sanders supporters responded on Twitter with the wry hashtag: #StealtheBern.

But I am sure it is different for the Obamas and Hillary.
I didn't ignore your post. I responded to it. Using the words "the world as we know it" and "the world as it is" isn't uncommon verbiage. Now if she had said “The standards of judgment must be rooted in the whys and wherefores of life as it is lived, the world as it is, not our wished-for fantasy of the world as it should be.” THAT would be plagiarism, because she would have apparently lifted the entire sentence, including structure and order from Alinsky.

Melania's speech, on the other hand lifted whole segments of Michelle Obama's speech near verbatim. These are not comparable.

The rest of you "Hillary does it too" bits seem to be her taking similar talking points to other people, again not ripping off whole sections of speeches verbatim.
