Do you LIKE the Sensor Penalty?

Do you personally LIKE the Sensor "Silence" Penalty?

Personally I like it, because I don't act like a total douche in game to warrant such a penalty. Trade chat is now relatively clean and free of toxic bile and political discussion. I like it a lot.

If you like / dislike it, what is the reason for you either liking it or disliking it?

I like the idea of it, but it seems the automation part is way too open to abuse currently.

It's a good idea and it will be smoother over time, like all Blizzard features.
People just jump on the bandwagon way to fast. (AS ALWAYS)

    It's badly implemented.

And it's a good job you don't act on trade like you act here. You'd never speak again.

No. I hate any censorship. Freedom of speech is important. Even if someone is only flaming, I really don't care and just ignore it. This just makes WoW more anti social. Anger tooo is an emotion which people should be able to express.

I am liking it, has already removed a few of the people/subjects that has been a problem.

I generally like the idea but it needs to start at 1 hour, doubling each time, and be capped at 1 day before GM review.

I agree with this. However worse comes to worse you can just /ignore someone if they are really bugging you. Not sure why they felt the need to automate it.

True, but you do actually ignore the many people making "anal [abilityhere]" jokes in trade or just grit your teeth and move on?

The silence penalty has a chilling effect on crappy speech like that-- it makes people less likely to be annoying in the first place.

Prone to abuse. (LOL at "Sensor".)

That's fair. I'll be honest I don't really pay attention or use trade chat. No real reason for me to.

Yes. It'll have a good effect on the community in the long term. Yes, it'll need to be a toned down a little to avoid people abusing it but in the end it'll be a good thing.

It's a horrid idea because like all other idiotic, utopia-like ideas, it doesn't take into account human nature.

If someone/thing posts the same thing more than once, it's reported.

No, it was a poorly thought out solution.

It would be much better to improve the ignore list (Make it account-wide, add more space/make it unlimited), add in more chat filters (Add the ability to not see, or receive mail/whispers from players under a certain level) and add another multi-city chat channel like trade for Off-topic discussion.

I'd like it if it wasn't automated. That a GM had to review first. That'd be a neat formal process then.

But as is, groups on my realm are already selling a silencing service for 1500g/player. Even offering to re-silence on appeal.

Third party websites are doing the same for $$.

Many groups are leveraging the auto-silencing feature to police trade chat.

Guilds are leveraging it to shut out competition for recruitment.

The #friendshipmoose guy got silenced by paid boost sellers because he drives their prices down.

The new jaylock bait, so fresh, much new, very different.

I think OP should be silenced. Would make a better MMO-C experience for sure.

I'd rather the player receiving the silence just get a suspension really. They also lied about the review part, as the silence will come into effect instantly if enough people report someone, and then get reviewed later. It's already been used to troll the friendly moose streamer guy, and Asmongold made a video testing it as well.
