but as other posters said above, this stuff happens so often in the middle east, its not a shock story, if they were to report on every terror attack in that region, they would be doing it so much, viewers would lose interest.

Or maybe they just couldn't use *shock terrorism* to push their agendas quite so successfully if people realised that in the grand scale of things it's about as dangerous as lightning.

Although really, yeah, its because it happens too far away for most of their readers/viewers to care
