It's not just that, but who it is he is once again ripping off. This is not some enemy of his or someone who is even neutral about Trump, but once again... He is ripping off his own most loyal supporters... He has now ripped off his tenants, his friends, those who spent 1000s in their trust of him and now his campaign cheerleaders. Do these Trump supporters think they are special and he won't rip them off, just like it seems he has everyone who believed in him, that's not named Trump?

Oh yeah. Him disowning his own convention today is a great example. It's all about him. Everyone else is a tool to his own needs. Always.

I think the one great thing about Trump is he has broken the DC consensus and also proven that a Republican can run to the left of the Democratic President on trade and absolutely dominate the GOP primary process.

But being anti free trade is not necesarily being pro labour. And anti free trade policies are bad. So why would democrats embrace bad economics?

I mean free trade is not a job generator nor a destroyer of jobs and so far the middle class and the poor benefited more from free trade than any other sector and outsourcing would have occurred regardless of ftas. The usa does not hace an fta with china. If one factor is to blame for the loss of jobs and that is automation. In the overall yes free trade is good expnomics according to virtually all economists.

Rampant globalization has seen the middle class jobs of the US exported out of the country as we are propped up with large scale debt. Free trade merely allows the rich to take advantage of people who live in countries with no human rights. It's why wages have been stagnant while the the wealth gap has increased exponentially.

Does any legitimate Trump supporter have a problem with him not releasing records on the only issue he bases his ability to lead upon? He touts his business success as the metric for his ability to lead and be President, but he refuses to release his tax records.

The economy is up, inflation is down, medical inflation is down, more people than ever have insurance, crime rates are at all time lows despite all this police violence stuff the media is covering. The one metric where it's about the same as it was is for the middle class. The middle class has not shared in this sudden rise in wealth, where the poor and elite both have benefited.

Trump's speech of fear and trying to convince people the country is worse off is just fear mongering. And that's not even being political about it. He has no basis for saying the country is worse off.

Worse yet, his VP has now said that they will repeal Roe vs Wade. Truly fascist.

What I find thoroughly laughable about that whole situation is that he claims he can't do it on account of his being under an audit, yet he hasn't released any previous year's tax returns. Make no mistake, I've no great love for Secretary Clinton, but everything about this man is repugnant.

I'm on my phone so I cannot link all of the studies, but the poll I linked you shows virtually unanimous agreement that free trade is good for the average american. It even has a question regarding nafta that shows once again almost unanimous agreement that it benefited americans.

Also I agree that free trade has downsides but to say that it only benefits the elite is not correct

Edit: assuming that most of the wealth goes to the upper sectors of social classes that is an argument for wealth redistribution not one against free trade

If I remember correctly Ghostpanther is an xenophobe and though maybe not a racist is racially intolerant. So what he means by worse off is its less white Anglo-saxon protestant. He isn't that outspoken about it so it takes a while before you hear if from him.

That's basically where I'm at. Its hard to even move on to comparing issues on stances when only one of them is even qualified at a basic level to be president.
