Jokes aside, here's a reality update for you, Bavaria is super conservative. When we joke about them being a country within a country, we're not entirely joking. They're more different to the rest of Germany than some ex-GDR states are. They do not represent Germany. Be careful about visiting one city and assuming to have "an inside scoop" on how we think.

Take this forum for example... whenever I go on one of my anti-nazi rants, people call me left, liberal, cuck, muslim-lover or whatever... and fail to realise that I'm politically centre-right. When I talk about certain solutions and aspects reminding me of actual nazi ideology, people think I feel guilty. I don't. It's a thing of the past, even my parents are 100% innocent of anything happening in that age. Hey, I'm not even disagreeing with the idea of controlling influx at the Lybian coast, I have even suggested that myself last year. The problem is that Lybia has to want it. And I'm not entirely certain that Lybia would allow that. And you can't do anything like that without Lybia being in on it.

The real solution (without knowing how to practically go about it) is to a) remove a reason to flee to begin with (poverty in Africa is a thing, so are warzones in the ME) and b) make sure that people know it's futile to even attempt to come to Europe. As long as they think the risk of crossing the med sea is worth it, they'll attempt it. If they somehow could be convinced that all they would gain is a chance at dying miserably, that might persuade them to instead settle for Lybia or even just stay at home.

What happened in the past decades is that after giving colonies up, we've witnessed a crapton of amateur Governments fail and countries implode, explode, merge, split up and do all the things that make people not want to be there. We (the west) has created an actual migration of people comparable to the great migration in Europe during the early middle ages sparked off by the huns invading.
