So I was doing basic carpenter work helping a friend build an extension for his house during a hot (35 °C) day when we decided to take a break and go for an ice-cold Slush.
We drove for a few minutes and then I went inside the nearby convenience store (which doubles as movie rental and ice cream store since he lives in a pretty remote town). I poured two units of ice-cold refreshments and then went to pay when I spotted the cashier: Average-looking blonde lady with glasses, well within my league.
Now I have a quirky habit of not putting lids on my beverages so she asked "if I would like a lid" before working her fingers on that register. Her body language struck me as odd since she was leaning on the counter - it was agressive, almost as if she was proposing something more, so I tried my luck with the best pickup line I could think of at the moment -
"If you tell me when your shift ends I can come pick you up and you can put one of my penis"
It turns out that my read was incorrect and it didn't take long for her to pick up the phone and dial 911.
Thank god I'm a fast runner but in hindsight, I can't help but wonder if this is socially acceptable behavior? What would a "normal" person have done?
