The United States has carried out air strikes on positions of so-called Islamic State (IS) in Libya, following a request by the UN-backed government there, the Pentagon says.

Good to see this starting IMO, there is little point beating them in Syria/Iraq if they still maintain their stronghold in Libya as they will just rebuild and push out again. Also I do think it would be kind of lol if Russia started bombing them in Libya now using the same legal loophole the US/etc used to bomb them in Syria :P

The arab nations Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE could use some help with the bombing there.

Well Libya is a tad far for Russians to bomb, no nearby Airbases afaik and the carrier is deployed to help with the mission in Syria.

Yeah good point, unless they want to start launching attacks on Libya from Syria lol, that would be a bit silly even for them.
