Should we be feeling sorry for this idiot? Regardless, attempted to run over officers. Could have ran an innocent pedestrian over if they came up out of nowhere. Could have been more lives taken. One less scumbag on the streets. I just can't believe people are ACTUALLY defending this guy...

Officers could have shot an innocent pedestrian if they came out of nowhere or if the bullet strayed.

Yeah, no. People are always likely to return to old habits. They can change for a period of time but they always go back to old habits.

If they are taking a dump and afterwards hiding bribe money on the restroom's ceiling, then it better be recorded.
How do you hide it on the ceiling?

They do change...not all but many can and have.

Some ceilings have hidden compartments just for that!

    Right.

Bodily functions are totally the same thing.

I wasn't aware that eating boogers is a bodily function. And most people don't require diapers unless they have a medical condition that says otherwise.

Was referring to the first part, obviously.

You're still comparing behaviors that result from socioeconomic ciricumstance to shitting yourself though.

    So yeah.

No I wasn't. I was commenting on what I though was a flawed analogy.

I hear the best way to not get shot by the cops is to steal a car, nearly run over one, ram another, then run away. guess he was just one of the unlucky ones.

Not one single mention of the criminal speeding through a neighborhood in a stolen car. He could have run a kid over or some other bystander. Not to mention police are supposed to protect the lives of everyone, not just the criminals you feel sorry for. This guy the ran through a backyard, potentially putting more lives at risk. This guy was not surrendering, so as long as he is running (through neighborhood backyards, no less) he is potentially putting more lives at risk.

But yes, poor poor criminal. Seriously, fuck people like you and your hindsight judgments..

So it is likely or always, because you contradicted yourself.

So why should the cops give any fucks about his life.
Because it's their job to protect and serve him.

Sure, I'll check the per-capita rates.

    https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s...ables/table-43

38% of violent crime committed by blacks
59% of violent crime committed by whites

    https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/

    13% of population is black
    62% of population is white

    US population is 318m

(violent crime by race / population)
Per-capita (1000) rate of violent criminality: 3.8 for blacks, and 1.2 for whites (3.2x higher).

    http://www.motherjones.com/politics/...uson-black-men(bjs graphic)
Arrest related deaths by race: 340 white 218 black('09)

(deaths by cops / race population)

    0.000527% black
    0.000172% white

    527 / 172 = ~3.06

    1. Are criminals more likely to interact with cops, than non-criminals?
    2. (if yes)Are criminals therefor more likely to be killed by cops than non-crminals?
    3. (if yes)Are violent criminals more likely to be violent towards cops, than criminals who didn't commit any previous violent crimes?
    4. (if yes)Are violent criminals more likely to be killed by cops, than non-violent criminals?

3.06 times more likely for blacks to be killed during arrests, but this matches the violent criminality. Correlation may not necessarily = causation, but I think there might be a link between being a violent criminal and getting killed by the cops. Just a hunch.
