IMO the ability to kill that fel reaver by yourself was the key part of the sacrifice.
It didn't have to be killed just wounded or distracted. Genn should be strong enough to do that or at least try and let the king live. Many things coild have played out differently. Jaina could have ported people away. All those cinematics are riddled with plot holes. It does end up putting us where Blizzard wanted though, both factions hating each other and keeping the war in warcraft.

If Ga'nar and Broxigar were around the horde would have totally held that ridge they knew what lok'tar ogar meant.

I agree with the plot holes. They all flee, while if they had stayed, they would have successfully slain Gul'dan and probably gotten away with the alliance intact and the Horde with more or less equal losses. It pisses me off that the Horde is being thrown under the bus by Blizzard once again. Even if it's a "misunderstanding". Jaina better go "Garrosh" at some point, because since Cata's Thrall story, the Horde has been either irrelevant, weak, evil, or both. Killing orcs is NOT Horde-love.
    Mother pus bucket!
