    Legion: Hillsbrad Invasion

So I'm noticing over in the old Southshore area their are demons drinking the blight? Demons investigating the blight, but also consuming it? Their are even NPCs called blightstalkers.

So are they immune to blight? Is this something we should be paying attention to? I feel like this is a clue to something.

Considering they indirectly created it, them being immune wouldn't be all that shocking.

Southshore is still blighted lorewise? That cleaning crew really sucks.
Now you see it. Now you don't.

    But was where Dalaran?

They're even empowering themselves to be deadlier by eating it.

The blightstalkers have abilities like Contaminate and Plague Bite

Well originally it should have taken a hundred years until someone could live there again, the clean up reduced that time, but it should still take a considerable amount of time.

    OT

Oh well that does not bode well for Forsaken legion confrontations, the blight seems not to be lethal enough ;P

is this what will spawn demonspacebearpig as a raid boss that retreats to the broken isles for tiered content ? tsk, we'll never see an end to the blights consequences!

Despite the wild claims and adamant assertions blight is a strain of the plague of undeath that was heavily altered and not a chemical weapon. So it would make sense because the plague of undeath came from the lich king who was created by the Legion.

It was altered to the point that it is more similar to acid though, it actually melts people.

More like flesh eating bacteria or rotting fungus. In theory it might even be fel energy behind the decay it causes, which sheds new light on the forces at work behind the creation of the plague.

The Blight canisters thrown by the catapults seem to work fine. And since Varimathras had strong influence in developing the weapon, the earleir strains may not work against Legion, but the Forsaken changed the weapon over time. They said with Draenor ingrediets they could potentially create strongest version yet. Since the fauna and flora of Draenor is different, quite a bit even, maybe it could have altered some fundamental aspects of the weapon.

    It melts non-organic matter too.

You shouldn't forget the legion had already invented a prayer, that was protecting their fodder scarlet troops from the blight, there is a good chance they might be able to come up with something similar again.

I know, but that was an even earlier strain. And it's not just the player driven catapults that shoot Blight. There are even more NPC ones and none of the Forsaken operating it mention anything about it not working.

Which is why it's not an acid.

How so? Acids can dissolve metals among other inorganic matter.
