The fact that this thread has reached 8 pages makes me want to delete my WoW account, MMO-C account and frankly smash my laptop.

    Depressing stuff for sure.

Yes because being away from home and deciding to post random stuff on the forum is depressing. Guess we're all in the same boat then in that case! Do you not understand the concept of irony or something?

Ridiculous post and shit to be upset by deserves ridiculous reactions, really. You give as good as you get on that front.

Hahaha, you made my day. This has to be the most random thing I've seen in my entire life.

How is it a ridiculous post? I want you to explain to me how I am not entitled, at all, to my own personal opinion and how I cannot express said opinion on a public forum for the game in of itself in which the opinion was formulated on.

I don't like slutmogs. I decided I got sick of their glorification and wanted to remark on them via my own thread. I do so without singling people out, dropping names, or being particularly vulgar. Hell, I didn't even use the term "slutmog" until other people did because by that point it was irrelevant.

I of course expect counter positions. People who would defend it. What I didn't expect was the hostility and general nastiness that came with it which only built up into such a fervor of irony that I can't help but to be amused.

The WoW Fanpage on Facebook is just the worst when it comes to this. I get triggered by someone's stupidity and transmogs every day. Can't stand the slutmogs and other idiotic looking ones.

I don't think you know how to apply irony. Because it doesn't apply in this case based on what I said.

    Nice try though.

Careful now, people might go off on you and insult everything about your mere existence based upon this.

Or, you could, you know, let people play the way they want to play, seeing as how it doesn't affect you in the slightest.

I like a little sexy but avoid super slutty out of personal preference. I don't judge others on their mogs.... except when they don't mog at all and look like a child's mismatched coloring book gone horribly wrong >_>. Then I just silently shake my head and avert my eyes.

Here's an example of one of my sexy but not slutty mogs. My Rogue:

It does, all too well in fact... but go ahead and convince yourself otherwise.

You can either take it or leave it but all you're doing is building upon my point by getting overly upset.
    You were pretty explicit:
I'm a male with several female characters and each one of them have virtually no skin showing.
Why was that an important factor? Because womens should be covered up. But why is this about womens transmogs? What's so different and special about them that they provoke such a strong response in you?

Nothing wrong with liking what you like.

There is something wrong with complaining about what others like.

Do what you like and don't whine about what others do, your opinion isn't any more valid then theirs.

do I sometimes roll my eyes at someone's transmog? yes. yes I do. but will I actualy shame them for it? no fucking way. their character- their choice what to do with it, doesn't matter what I think about it. shaming people for something this inconsequential is just bringing negativity where no negativity is needed. if you dislike a particular style of transmog? don't use it! if you think certain looks look better? use those looks on your own characters! it doesn't get any easier then that.

I actually like that mog, a lot. I'd try to get the boots that match the chest personally but overall I do enjoy the look.

You're entitled to your opinion and caring about how people choose to dress their characters in a game, others are entitled to think that you're being ridiculous and petty.

I'm part of many WoW community pages on Facebook and I often see female administrators post images, purposefully or inadvertently with their character front-row-and-center; meanwhile, sitting on the login screen for said character and therefore no missing what they're wearing or look like... even if the post has nothing to do with their character in the first place.

Almost every time(if not just that thus far) their character is wearing the skimpiest, most gaudy little outfit humanly possible and then trying to up the "cute" factor by throwing a witch's hat atop the bizarre ensemble. Then when you go into the comments section, all you read is, "Oh excellent mog!" and other variants in terms of compliments.

    Why?

These are some of the easiest mogs to throw on, common as all hell, they require virtually no forethought nor consideration, and they're clearly designed simply to draw attention towards the character's sexuality and therefore the player. Why is being tacky a celebrated thing? It's not only tacky but it doesn't even look good unless you're that big on pixellated in-game pornography.

I'm a male with several female characters and each one of them have virtually no skin showing. I went out of my way to find interesting transmogs for each that complimented their class/lore as much as humanly possible. From my Hunter to my Demon Hunter. Not only for the sake of adding a level of immersion to my gaming but also because women, even pixel ones, don't always need to be some thong-wearing buxom goddess to be helluva cool. That simply comes across as demeaning to me no matter how hard I try to look around it.

I don't even need a picture of the OP to see the fedora. *eyeroll* Look pumpkin, some people find revealing clothing (be it in game or out of game) to be empowering. Some people find concealing clothing empowering. If your biscuits get SO BUTTERED about what other people do that has no impact on you, you should seek professional help.

Then they're free to argue it. If I thought my opinion was more valid, then there's would not be welcomed.

"if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all".

People like their stupid, fugly mog. They put time into finding what they wanted to use, time deciding what they want it to look like -- maybe to be fugly, silly, or just 'eh' taste wise -- but it's their fun and they pay money to play the game and it's their outlet from the rest of their troubles.

So I don't go out of my way to demean their mog because I'm not a dick.

The thread title should be Memoirs of a video game outfit bully.
