Hillary: USA's women athletes broke glass ceilings to win gold at Rio Olympics 2016

It's success stories like these which show why female empowerment is a great thing. Everyone keeps raging against SJWs and feminism on these forums, yet everyone seems to be overlooking the fact that without feminism USA wouldn't have dominated the medal table at the Rio Olympics. What do you Men's Rights Activists have to say to that?

why is Ibtihaj's achievement just competing with a religious cloth on?
"It doesn't matter if you believe me or not but common sense doesn't really work here. You're mad, I'm mad. We're all MAD here."

it wasn't a movement that got those people to the heights they achieved. it was the hard work and dedication that they and there team that took them. besides that the Olympics compete girls vs girls, boy vs boys. how come feminism didn't help the other teams.

How did feminism help a woman's team beat another woman's team?

If anything, breaking racial barriers is responsible. But seeing as African Americans have been competing for the US Olympics for over 100 years, it seems like a dead horse to beat at this point.

But they win because they're genuinely exceptional, not because a shit hashtag and landwhales on tumblr? Completely ignoring the young lady who took the gold in marksmanship though? Holy shit.
You're not to think you are anything special. You're not to think you are as good as we are. You're not to think you are smarter than we are. You're not to convince yourself that you are better than we are. You're not to think you know more than we do. You're not to think you are more important than we are. You're not to think you are good at anything. You're not to laugh at us. You're not to think anyone cares about you. You're not to think you can teach us anything.

In a way, just because of how dominant sports are in our culture, it is sort of unfair for other countries to have to compete against American athletes period, but that goes double for women. Pretty much all American girls grow up playing some kind of sport and even those that don't tend to do cheerleading or dance or something physical, and there's no shortage of ways for them to get involved with sports from a young age, something that other countries don't have to nearly the same level. And of course the whole system that supports that didn't spring up overnight, and has gotten plenty of pushback, not least of all from the girls themselves who were apprehensive about sports making them too mannish or unattractive, but that's something that our country overcame whereas others seem to still be struggling with it mightily.

As a sensible, non-retarded individual, my reply would be: WTF does any of those achievements have to do with Feminism? Best woman at sport claims gold medals, sets records. Nothing even remotely feminist about that. That is simply the result of being the best at what you do.

Or are you going to imply that partiarchy somehow has an equal share in giving Phelps all his swimming medals?

    Both implications being equally moronic.

Ok, this was phrased in a way that leads to a gender discussion, which we dont allow. Other lines of discussion already have their relevant megathreads (Hillary here in GenOT, Olympics in Sports and Fitness forum).
