A friend and I are arguing!

Can tanks in Legion be critically struck? We're debating over the uses of Roar of Sacrifice as far as a mitigation tool in Legion raids.

Since 7.0.... A few open world mobs have crit me in bear.
I think this is a bug though. 99% of the time, mobs can't crit, or shouldn't at least.

Crushing blows are no longer a thing either.

    So generally - No.

No, tanks cannot be crit. If you're getting crit you're dealing with a bugged mob or you're hitting /sit.

Or the mob is more than 3 level higher than you. And even skull bosses have hidden levels.

So the answer is YES... in certain very specific situations. Otherwise no.
^ The above should be taken with two grains of salt and a fistful of "chill the F* out".
