elemental mastery with ascendance?

As a player returning after a long break, i feel like missing a key point regarding these 2 cds, as most of the guides suggest using these at the same time on pull.Since LvB is allready instant during ascendance, why combine with EM? to boost fire elemental? Why not use EM right after ascendance finishes?

Lava Burst has no cooldown during Ascendance but it certainly has a cast time. Your Lava Bursts deal more damage during Ascendance and EM allows you to cast more Lava Burts during your Ascendance.

As Situ said, Lava Burst do have a cast time with Ascendance just no CD, and this is good with Elemental mastery because you get more haste that in turns makes it possible for you to cast more Lava bursts during that period
