Just got the drop. Confirmed drops from Eredar mobs in Highmountain

I can confirm I just got my affliction hidden artifact when i farmed for DEMO i got Artifact Knowledge 5
I had Demo loot specilization I was also specced demo

I killed about 12 eredars and got it to drop

Just got it from the Eredar mobs in highmountain (Shadowsworn Defilers).
Artifact Knowledge Level 5
I also did it as demo with demo loot spec, I had farmed the same mobs as affliction with no end in sight, this might just be a coincidence though.
Not exalted with any broken isles faction, for myself and others who were asking if thats needed.

Im not exalted with ANY FACTION on my warlock Im only REVERED with every faction, and i got the affli, currently farming demo

yeah seems the only requirement for the affliction drop is to have artifact knowledge 5. not dependent on reps, achs, kills etc.

So i got the grimoire but what do i do next? kill humanoid rares?
Ok so i gotn one from doing an elite world quest. It was the quest in stormheim to kill the skeleton guy look alike from ICC

Get hype! To those who have the tome, who rare did it seem to be? Cuz from reading this it looks like it's fairly easy to get. The hard part comes from murdering the ppl for the skulls.

yeah tome is pretty easy to get. i got mine in ~20 minutes. the 13 skulls will take a while though. has to be a world quest for an individual rare elite, and some of these even don't count. so pure rng and time.

Not sure this is true. I've been farming for 2 hours now, partly as affliction, partly as demonology, still seen nothing. Have artifact knowledge 5.

Maybe there is another requirement that everyone who has got it has done?

There was talk on the demonology thread about killing Xavius maybe being a requirement, perhaps it is for affliction. Has anyone had the grimoire drop who hasn't killed him?

I got it yesturday, i haven't even set foot in Emerald Nightmare yet, i can be sure to say the raid isn't a prerequisite.

It could be pure coincidence but i farmed as affli for around an hour killing the eredar mobs in highmountain, i noticed everyone i had seen get it was demo, i switched just to see and it dropped in 10 mins.

yeah tome is pretty easy to get.

Don't fool people. Either the eredars who spawned for WC has a higher chance to drop item or it just a very low drop rate with few people being lucky to get it in few kills. 2 hours of farm supplicants

I'm not exactly 'fooling' anyone. The majority of people I have spoken to have obtained it with relative ease, it seems like it's the minority that have had bad luck. There's also a theory that the more 'difficult' the eredar mob (eg: higher health), the higher the chance is to drop. I originally spent an hour in Soul Engine: Apocalypse with no luck, but those mobs only have 1.4M hp. When I moved to the Highmountain location where the eredar have 8M+ hp it dropped in 20 minutes. If the theory is true, it's no wonder you're having bad luck farming the eredar supplicant mobs with only 800k HP - not to mention farming those generally takes longer anyway because they're all spread out and are often killed by those leveling/doing the world quests.

Which mobs are these? I assume they're elite with 8m+ health?

People reporting that item drops from supplicants with high chance (~50 kills). It may be tied to reputation (exalted with one faction/revered with all factions) Ot there's some unknow requirement.

I've killed over 200 supplicants now and no drop.

I've killed Xavius (on heroic), I'm not exalted with any faction though.

Killed loads of eredar mobs and it didn't drop. Realised I hadn't used my research notes for rank 5 and first mob I killed after that dropped it. Doesn't seem too rare.

Got bored of farming HM after a few hours, went to Azsuna to kill supplicants. So far killed 50 as affliction, 50 as demonology. Nothing.

AK level 5, Exalted with Nightfallen, Revered with all others.

Think I've spent around 8 hours farming Eredar the past couple of days. Not as much as some people, but I think it's safe to say that AK level 5 is not the only requirement.

Or maybe I just have terrible luck.
