How far away do you sit from your monitor?

I use to sit fairly close ~2ft, however new desk has me closer to ~3ft away and honestly it's a bit harder to see some things but much better on the eyes.

I'm near-sighted (also short-sighted probably) and hate wearing my glasses.

Depends. Am I playing Dragon Age: Inq? 6 inches. Anything else, 2-3 ft.

Roughly arms length with extended fingers. Anything less than 18 in (~50cm) is too close. Maximum distance depends on monitor size.
