[GAME] S2 - Rate The Character /10! Day #124: Ga'nar

[Deleted]

Rules:

- One character to be polled every day, to be voted on a scale of 1 to 10.
- Each poll lasts for 24 hours and closes automatically. Shortly afterwards, a new Day starts!
- We have an initial roster for S2 that will be picked from randomly. For the remainder of the Season, characters need 9 nominations to make it to the next poll, with players allowed a single S2 nomination a Day each.
- Nominations expire every 5 days. Each day a character gets a new nominations, the 5 days counter resets again.
- If a character has two incarnations, both from the main and alternative universes, then the poll will be referring to both versions simultaneously.
- Every ten days, we will have a SPECIAL Day! We will host a character from Season 1 to re-vote! Meaning, Days #110,120,130... etc will be about characters from Season 1.
- Days that end with 5 will always feature a major or an iconic character! Meaning, Days #115, 125, 135... etc will be similar to what the SPECIAL Days of S1 used to be, but the character will be picked from the nominations list instead of being a random major.
- The same nominating rule apply for SPECIAL Days! Players can nominate a character for Season 2 AND for SPECIAL Days in the same post. So in other words, you can nominate twice per topic; once for S2, and once for S1!
- The Game Master reserves the right to decline any nomination without giving the reason, though a reason will usually be provided.
- The Game Master can participate in the voting, but is not allowed to nominate.
- Regarding the S1 re-voted characters, there is no longer a criteria of votes to be achieved. Instead, the nomination will be treated like a competition; the character that gets the most votes before the next SPECIAL Day will be featured on the next SPECIAL Day.
- Only SPECIAL Days nominations (S1 characters) are allowed during SPECIAL Days.

I like the guy. Easy 7/10 but as @Arrashi said he was left with much to be desired. I scored him mianly based on his personality; while he is indeed a generic orc at first sight, he actually grows into a more rational character and his ending scene was on bar if not more impacting on me than AU Velen's ending in Shadowmoon.

That said, I want to apologize first of all for being late today. Without delving into details, I am going through some rough times. I don't know how things tomorrow will go, frankly, but I will still come and make the next topic one point during the day. Please bear in mind though that if tomorrow's topic was made much earlier than tonight's, then the two topics would run side by side until this one expires.

I thought he was one of the highlights of the leveling story in Warlords on either faction, and not really because of the "noble sacrifice" thing. That was kind of predictable. I just liked his entire story -- the jealousy, the attempt to usurp his brother, how he was shamed and eventually submitted. Best yet, I think whoever wrote his dialog did a fine job and so did his voice actor. Just one of those nice moments when it all came together, I suppose.

He got a rather funny introduction to the players where he had to shovel up poop, then its all going up against the Iron Horde till he met his pretty awesome ending. Though the rather low rating is because I found his personality a rather cliché bloodthirsty and short tempered orc which has been done to many times, and it feels like they needed a character like him to contradict with Durotans character. I did like his way of taking the fight to the Thunderlord clan, going for the sons of Fenrir before engaging him himself. Its not really a character that I can get into, but he's definately not the worst that came out of WoD. I also found the Frostridge questing to be average but its definately not because of him.

8/10. One of the more likeable orc characters, and a huge part of why I enjoy Frostfire Ridge more than Shadowmoon Valley. Although to be fair, I like Yrel's growth in the starting zone more. I know that Durotan is supposed to be the parallel of Yrel, but I still can't help but consider Ga'nar to be, and while I mentioned enjoying Yrel's growth more, I believe Gan'ar got the much more satisfying ending.

And @Archmage Kalec (and I am sorry to say this here) please respond to my PM next time. You got me really worried.

Ga'nar gets an easy 7/10 for me, just for being, along with Nazgrim, one of the few orc characters managing to look very "orcish" while not being subscribed to the alt-right club of kek devotion. Maybe a bit too similar to Grom but his sacrifice was quite badass and a decent way to end his story. Yeah, much more could have been done with him but hey, when I look at cases like AU Orgrim I think Ga'nar had it easy.

Well he is one of the only positively charged characters from WoD People proberly put him high, because he gave a good experience in a pretty bad expansion when it comes to lore and characters.

7/10 Pretty cool addition and probably my second fav cinematic in WoD, only wish he would have been explored a bit more, but then his story would have to drasticly changed. Overall build up well for how he lasted.
