    The Gary Johnson thread.

    I looked, and didn't see one, but if there is one, please merge.

    So, this is who I am voting for. Yeah, he's a little quirky, but the fact is, he's the most sane between him, Clinton, and Trump. I agree with him on just about everything he stands for except I worry a bit on his military stance - but that goes with being a libertarian.

    I have taken many political "tests" and I always fall close to dead center between blue and red. I am a registered independent.

    I also like Weld as a VP choice... in fact, I might like Weld a bit more than Johnson.

    I will feel cheated if they don't get into any of the debates. To me, if they don't, it will prove the system is rigged ( I already think that, anyway ).

    This is the theme to Gary's thread,
    The theme to Gary's thread.
    Gary called me up and asked if I would write his thread song.
    I'm almost halfway finished,
    How do you like it so far,
    How do you like the theme to Gary's thread.

    Including a summary of his stance on the issues in the OP might be helpful for OT posters who haven't decided on a candidate yet.

    Bill Weld should be Presidential nominee. Ticket should have been flipped.

    The Libertarians talk a good game to me. Basically socially liberal and fiscally conservative. Some of their platform/policies are out there of course. I really wish Gary J. would at least get in the debates. At least one debate, even if he does not hit the poll numbers.

    I do not know if this is official. Not going to copy/paste. Just link the site.

    And what is Aleppo?

    He's a little too hands off for my liking. But I do think he's a pretty decent human being.

    I like him, but his social media presence is literally "at least I'm not Clinton or Trump, I am another choice!" It does not really make me see him as a leader or someone who really wants to be one. Bernie for all his faults made it clear he wanted to lead. Same for Ron Paul, he was ready to lead.

    That's how I understand it.

    GOP = all around conservative

    Democrats = all around liberal

    Libertarians = social liberal, fiscal conservative

    I've come to wonder, is there any room for a party that = social conservative, fiscal liberal?

    When you listen to interviews with Gary J. and Bill W., they don't really bash Hillary. They disagree with her fundamentally, but not personal bashing. Both basically do not think Trump can govern at all.

    Now that would be a political party.

    Not that I would vote for it; I'm a center-left type and I mostly vote Democrat or independent. I'm just curious why no one has tried to fill that niche.

    It's adorable when Libertarians talk. It's like they think they're people.

    You might change your mind after looking at his record in NM.

    I was going to vote for him until he said he was pro immigration. Immigration and welfare cannot coexist

    What a great idea! Lets split the vote more and in 3 months time all meet back here a moan about how none of us voted for President Trump.

    I take it you mean illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants do not qualify for welfare. I know you will argue or link an article say from The Washington Examiner stating facts that their birth rite children qualify. Which is sort of semantics, but I will not argue wholeheartedly. Interesting they use bot legal and illegal immigrants for their numbers. Which I don't get.

    More importantly. If what G. Johnson offers is more of a work visa and making visas easier so migrants can come and do the work and pay what they need to pay and then cross back to their country.
