A Mythic +5 Maw of Souls run w/ Resto and Enh Shaman plus Celestalon tanking!

Found this vid on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFgSBYu5r6k
    (credit: Garrett Moon)

It is from a Resto Shaman PoV, and has Celestalon (Blizz Dev) tanking as a BM Monk plus an all melee team w/ an Enh Sham, Ret Pally, and Frost DK. As a Shaman, it made me happy to see that both Resto and Enh were doing well in Mythic + content. I also thought it was cool that it was an all melee DPS team instead of your typical 2 ranged, 1 melee DPS and they were still successful in completing it within the time limit. Can't wait for Mythic + stuff!

Aren't dungeons melee friendly? Burst and stuff where ranged sometimes struggle. On raid bosses, you sometimes don't even need 1 single melee dps. Try that with ranged ^^

    + 5 is rather easy.

And Resto Shaman is not great for a High level of Mythic + Dungeons, you lack the CD's to just burst heal your Tank.

You can use SLT but that requires a Melee next to the tank and has a 3min CD.

ye resto shamans is probably one of the weaker healers at high mythic+ because their lack of strong single target healing, mastery helps and you have SLT on a 3min yes, but not much more besides that.

It's like a mythic dungeon, but each +# is it increasing in difficulty. At certain +#, an affix is added to increase the difficulty. Some include enrages on mobs, additional adds, and things like that. I believe there is no current hard cap on it. When you finish say, +5, you get another keystone that is +# that I believe goes higher depending on how quickly you finished (I may be wrong on this).

Atm the highest rank is 15,no other past that but its safe to assume that they will add more later.

There's no limit, like stated in a blue post months ago. That's what very good groups will be going after.

Thats pretty impressive tanking for someone playing on a Tablet.

Actually they said there is a limit, but it's so high that if someone manages to finish it, blizz will ban them (for cheating).

Wow can you see the actual dungeon behind the size of the UI?

As someone who has healed almost every Mythic+10 as a Shaman, I see this blanket statement everywhere and it's never backed up every time I see it. I'm not sure what "strong single target" healing you are using to compare to RShaman in the hierarchy of healers. RShaman is not at the top but it's certainly not "one of the weaker healers." If you spec correctly for Mythic+, RShaman has only a slightly harder time healing a tank than RDruid and HPal, is on par with HPriest, and brings arguably the most superior utility of all healers outside of battleres.

Undulation gives every third spam heal on the tank a 50% boost which is hugely underrated combined with RShaman mastery and combined with Crashing Waves which you two charges of Tidal Waves (crit chance of HSurge + 40%). Undulation-boosted healing surges are good enough for pretty much every hard pull, Necrotic affix aside (that sometimes requires some "creative" tanking + Spirit Linking).

Good RShamans will need to play better than good RDruids to heal Mythic+ but they are not bottom of the barrel by any means.

I think Undulation is underrated for sure, I always see how people talk about torrent as the 100% number 1 option, but atleast for dungeons Undulation actually feels pretty strong, specially when picked with crashing waves and with the artifact traits that buff Tidal waves you can cast healing waves really fast or even more crit chance to healing surge which can result in some real fatty heals.

if you have the undulation up and crit with healing surge on a low health target with the mastery it heals alot actually

Shh, don't let people know that we can do more than just spam chain heal.

    it'll be our little secret.

Our mastery alone makes our ST heals some of the best in the game, while in beta being able to bomb someone at around 10% hp with undulation and a healing surge crit will pump out some way over the top numbers, and you don't need a CD popped to do that. Ancestral vigor is also quite huge in these small group dungeons.

    Maz

Mazzeric, what is your complete talent setup for Mythic + dungeons? I healed a bunch this weekend up to a BRH 8 and they definitely are fun and challenging. Hoping to make myself even better for them.

Thankyou! It's frustrating to keep reading how "weak" we are on tank healing.

My talent build for mythic+ is completely different to Heroic EN. Almost not a single talent the same.

I healed mythic+5 Neth Lair at ilvl 840 and found it rather simple with only one death(not my fault). Yes it was only +5 which isn't meant to be too difficult. But if your not talented right for it, you will have a bad time.

PS I almost never use chain heal in mythic+ dungeons.
