Azshara & N'zoth - a patch in Legion, or their own expansion?

Since the opinions seem to be divided regarding this, let's see what you prefer, think, or both if they are the same.

Other options include the scenarios where we deal with them now, only for them to return, or that we deal with one of them only and the other in their own expansion.

    Yes, please "expplain" *sigh*

They seem to be moving on at a much quicker pace than expected. They got the titan talking to us, the army of light communicating with us. I predict 2 more expansions, n'zoth one, then army of light one, but depending on how quickly legion goes, could be one.

It's an absolute joke if they don't get their own expansion

You would have to be insanely delusional to think that N'zoth will be anything other than 7.2.

He's just another Old God, nothing more. Hell, he arguably had less development than Yogg.

Azshara, eh, probably, don't think she would fit thematically atm, probably next expansion. I could see her in 7.2 aswell, but she's a whole different caliber than N'zoth, importance-wise.

Wait, you think WoW will only be getting 2 expansions after Legion, or those are the 2 you are predicting?

Because I highly doubt they will just shut the game down with how much revenue/profit it makes.

I won't disagree, but can I cite this in the future if you turned out wrong?

To be fair, i would not be surprised if second big patch/raid tier was naga/old god themed. We don't really have a clear candidate for that position (unlike in wotlk with ulduar, cata with firelands and mop with fanda king). On top of that there is huge naga activity across many zones, and even things like that hidden mount quest point in direction of old gods/aquatic theme.

Also (and this is a tinfoil theory) blizzard removed that one zone and promised us something completely diffrent.....and then introduced 2 aquatic mounts. Another water zone incoming ?

You can, but only if there's no N'zoth patch at all. Naturally, I won't know when he will show up in a patch, I just used 7.2 because we already know 7.1. Could be 7.3, could be 7.4

Shut down, no, but between chronicle and what has happened in legion, just how much other story is there to tell? After what's happening now, there's no going back to something relatively innocent and not that important like pandaria. They got all their side stories out, now they're blazing a path towards the end of the warcraft story.

I imagine that's a big part of why Metzen retired: the rest of the story has been pretty much written, just needs to be made.

After the army of light void lords and stuff is over, maybe they'll go back to something simple, but the main story will be over...

Between now and Anduin becoming old is a lot of time. We could turn into space marines, visiting new planets to cleanse them from Legion or defend from their invasions or just helping their inhabitants (either solving their war problems [after we ended alliance vs horde conflict ourselves obviously]) or gathering new members for Army of the Light. Tons of possibilities to make up something new.

On topic: Own expansion, after Legion, IMO. With tinkers, naval battles (ships and submarines), Kul Tiras & Jaina, uniting Troll tribes, dealing with Magatha. IMO Legion is a set up for this.

n'zoth is the last old god. if we ever have a void lord expansion bliz would wants to use him before void lords.

I think N'zoth will be handled in a patch, and Azshara will get her own expansion.

With the hype Azshara has been getting ever since Warcraft 3 along with the Naga, it would be strange if they didn't get their own expansion.

Azshara and N'zoth will get their own expansion pack, probably immediately after Legion. Why would they rush two hugely hyped villains with just a patch, when they could flesh them out over an entire expansion? Especially Azshara, we've been waiting to deal with her for years. We know she and N'Zoth have been up to a lot of dark, devious shit ever since Cataclysm.

Pretty much what I personally think, but honestly @Arrashi post has a lot of merit and I came to the same conclusion being a possibility, so I am genuinely confused.

i'm assuming there will be an old god expansion, which azshara should be in (imo), because she and her people have been transformed to the naga by them. she's their 'minion' now

They are setting it up to be a patch pretty obviously.
Yogg Saron is, lorewise, much stronger than N'zoth is and only got a patch. People are just delusional if they think N'zoth alone deserves an xpack. We already had an Old God xpack (Cataclysm). The next expansion will be about the void.

Yogg had bits and pieces in 3.0 in terms of development. N'zoth had few expansions.

Funny, we already had a Legion expansion (TBC). I don't know if you have been paying any attention to the current expansion, but it's also about the Burning Legion.

That alone isn't a reason to role out the possibility.

The Burning Legion is the main antagonist since the RTS. The Old Gods are simply lackeys of the next big enemy. Stop hyping them to be something bigger than they are, we already killed most of them. N'zoth will die in a xpack with Azshara and then we will move on. There is no need for an xpack for that.
