There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." - Isaac Asimov

When all you do is WIN WIN WIN
My suspicion is that DJT reads every headline on Drudge. I know 60+ aged people who sound just like him. All he says is bits of factoids that stir up white panic. But he never reads the linked article so he doesn't know how the story ends. The longer he gets to talk, to more evident it is he doesn't understand the topic.
I know I'm not unbiased, but I really can't see how people would think Trump outperformed Clinton. Unless it's some weird metric.
Clinton looked more composed. Hell, she looked healthier than him.
Clinton gave more composed and clear answers.
Clinton didn't interrupt or get into with the moderator.
We'll have to see what the fact checkers say but Trump told a couple of blatant lies about what he's said in the past. I mean...whoppers. And a few comments that didn't flat out make any sense.
From a policy perspective I don't think Trump's approach of pushing trickle down economics, law and order, stop and frisk, and the like are going to have appear outside his base and he absolutely needs to expand it.
I'm open to hearing why people think Trump won, but you have to have something of substance when it comes to analysis of what happened and how they acted...

Highlights of the night...
Trump sounding like he has a substance abuse disorder.
Clinton: "At least I have a PLAN for ISIS."
Trump getting some points for pounding Clinton on TPP.
Clinton: "Trump-ed up, trickle down".
Trump: "That's because I'm smart", LOL.
Clinton: "We cannot just say, 'law and order' (in regards to racial tension)".
Trump: "I got [Obama] to produce his birth certificate and I think I did a good job of it" (fucking lol).
Clinton: "Well...just listen to what you heard (re: Trump blathering on about Obama)...remember that Trump started his career being sued for racial discrimination, back in the 1970s".
Trump: "That is the true way I feel", he sounded like he was genuinely sincere there.
Trump: "Blah blah blah SEAN HANNITY", who the fuck cares about Sean Hannity? Wtf is this?
Trump: "I have a much better temperament than Clinton". "I have a winning temperament, I know how to win". "Secretary Clinton, you are totally out of control."
Clinton: "To be taunted is not the right temperament for being Commander in Chief".
Clinton: "A man who can be provoked via a Tweet should not have access to nuclear codes".
Trump: "We can't be America: World Police."
Clinton: Lol, "stamina".
Clinton completely decimating Trump over a Latina beauty pageant contestant.
Trump: "She's not nice". Really?
Overall Trump did much better than expected, although Clinton ended on a strong note. If I had to choose a winner, it was Hillary.
The biggest thing that came up tonight for me was:
"That wouldn't have started a war."
If you want any more evidence that it's dangerous to give Trump control of our military, there you go.
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!
