I grabbed some data from Warcraft Logs trying to gauge the popularity of certain classes in Heroic raids based on the number of parses. Keep in mind the data set is limited to Warcraft Logs.

This is based on the 75-percentile statistics for Heroic Emerald Nightmare raids from today, 2016-09-25.

I honestly wouldn't expect druid and shaman that high, but interesting.

What really ads it to me here is the brewmaster monk.

It's not like the other low specs where. It's just a matter a different spec in the same class being better at that role. It's just not used at all. People do not like brewmasters

Brewmaster isn't even that much worse than other tanks, but for heroic, given how Tanks spots in a raid work, no surprise barely any raids is trusting a monk for tanking, or even finding one if they trusted it.

Saw recent stats showing DH, then druid, then Pal, then Hunter for 110 class currently.
Druid is very high, and Shaman always had a very dedicated playerbase.

In fact, at overall mitigation and tankiness for raid bosses they are only 2nd to war of that list. The problem is current brewmaster play style is about as dull as watching paint dry and no one wants to play it along with them lacking pretty much any type of utility for a raid.

The only thing I miss is shadowburn + Havoc. (I know, I could take that, but the rotation would feel super weird.) I thought that combo was pretty much essential to the nature of Destro. But I'll get over it. Or maybe they'll give it back. *shrug*

People are very quick to give up on a spec that often doesn't deserve being abandoned.
