Yes, that's 840, not 740.
Is anyone else having this happen where sometimes, instead of disenchanting into Chaos Crystals, their epics will, on occasion, disenchant into Leylight Shards?

the shard you get is based on the pre-WF/TF item. So if an 825 item drops in a heroic but WFs to 835 (epic) it will still disenchant into a blue shard, but if a base WQ reward (or lfr drop) is a 835 epic it will DE into a chaos crystal.

Happens to me. Usually with something that was a base blue that got upgraded to epic. Sucks, but kinda makes sense. Haven't had it happen to any mythic epics.

Pretty sure this is the case. Similarly, epic versions of the ilvl 765 JC stuff DEs into Temporal Crystals, so it really depends on the ilvl. Originally Posted by Cheze

in the same way, green quest rewards that upgrade to blue or purple will still DE into arkana
