Diffuse Magic not working for Eye boss fight (Mythic)

Sup monks!

I noticed after our kill on eye that Diffuse magic doesn't seem to be working on the DoT you get after killing blobs. My raid basically kill all 8 blobs at the start of the fight together, then stack up and pop all defensives and stuff. It works our pretty well and I survive most of the time. But I noticed that Diffuse Magic doesn't seem to work. It is "Shadow Damage", so it should work. Anyone else noticed this problem?

I should be taking really low amounts of damage with diffuse magic. The ele shaman for example has a 40% dmg reduction, while I have a 60%, there is noway he could take less damage than me.

I haven't ever used it during that part as I just stun and get out of the area. I use Defuse Magic for Spew Corruption cause that shit hurts
