    Unholy Death Coil Buffed!

    From the PTR notes:

    Death coil damage increased from 85% AP to 127.5% AP.

    With our artifact damage increase this should transform our Wet Noodle coil into a proper Death Coil!

    Good to hear, although it's just a bandaid fix atm. Better than nothing but even with that buff we will see be lower tier. I just have a feeling that they want dks to be at the bottom.

    DC should just be moved off the global CD, made automatic on the free ones like it used to be, or be given a talent or buff ability that substantially increases the damage of the next X many.

    Not that lowering the CD on Timmy isn't great and all, but it just doesn't feel compelling even as filler.

    Finally, cant wait to test this out later today.
    a bit annoying is the fact that I cant teleport to the upper level in acherus on PTR for more than a week now.
    Im stuck with frost and cant manage to select my artifact traits at the forge :c

    still dont understand why they just do %dmg increases... for me this just tells me that they are not putting enough time into the balance. Look at frost. Sure Oblit gets buffed but its still not going to scale and be a problem later on when ilvls get high...

    ah well its a buff atleast. Seen worse but its not going to fix the problems with the class

    Analyzing that change to logs it will end up being a 3%ish overall DMG increase. Still puts us at the bottom of the list among DPS classes

    It´s a much needed buff to the ability itself, but not really enough to adress scaling issues of the class.
    Would like to see Mastery buffed back to 20% as it used to be.

    Then there is also the problem of the constant ressource capping. Would love to see Double Doom increasing the dmg of Suddon Doom proccs instead of increasing the proccrate further.

    Unholy with this change alone won't be fixed, but it's a start. We have to consider that this is like one of the first ptr balance passes. We've got another week before the patch hits live. And chances are they're going to do another pass a week or two into 7.1

    This is laughable if it's the only change to "balance" UH.
    Currently I'd say DC is about 5% of my damage.
    A 50% buff does nothing to close the gap with the other overpowered specs. It doesn't fix any of our previous issues with death coil or the lackluster gold traits that are associated with it.

    I think this buff is too low. As i said, dc needed like 100%-200% more damage. Not only 50%

    I really fucking hope that isn't the extend of changes to unholy for 7.1

    This buff is completely negligible to our overall damage. It's like a 1.5% overall increase, which really means fuck all when we are trailing by 10% or more to the better specs.

    I sure hope this is only the first balance pass and others will follow (even though time is getting short). This is lacking not only for DKs but many other classes as well.

    That solves half the problem now gotta fix our total depency on RNG to deal proper dps. Mostly Festering wounds.

    I don't see how this helps our scaling issues...buff is to small, should be at least 200% to make it worthwhile

    its like a 3% dps increase overall. still have a ways to go. good choice buffing dc tho, buffing fs, wounds or ss would just make the bracers even more valuable. maybe buff timmy, gargoyle, wp, or give aotd a reasonable cd next. maybe however, a stacking dot with wounds would be good too. make it tick for like shadow, fire and bleed damage all at once. we use a blood relic and fire relic, would it be that weird if our abilities did some of that damage? would make unholy feel more unique too which is what blizz seems to be about these days.

    nowhere near enough, death coil should hit a lot harder and only trigger 1s GCD for the next ability

    I dont think they implement other changes in the future but still fingers crossed. And for that reason imo dc should be buffed soo much so it does same amount of damage as fs with traits (on a boss fight). Even then, it won't be a huge buff (st and cleave) to unholy but at least dc will worth it.

    IMO if this is all that's happening then it's now 100% confirmed that Blizzard either hasn't read or doesn't agree with our concerns regarding the reason why Unholy is behind.

    This both nowhere near enough to catch up with other classes at high ilevel, and doesn't address the scaling problem at all (it does increase the value of mastery very slightly, but not nearly enough to fix the massive scaling issue).
