Russian and Syrian air force is in majority control of the air space. Russians and Syrians have turned Syria into the most heavily fortified and concentrated AA and SAM systems in the world. The United States does not have the ability to enforce a no fly zone.

You can't negotiate something when the Russians realize they have air superiority in Syria and they are almost victorious in Aleppo.

7% is not a big lead. That is well within margin of error (5%) and that lead will shrink in three weeks. Clinton needs to maintain a double digit lead heading into the final week.

Syria is a wreck, because Putin is supporting Assad's regime - regime which is condemned by the whole civilized world; without that support, Syrian civil war might have ended already. Inside Russia, the economy is in a disarray, the system slowly shifts into the totalitarian part of the freedom spectrum, skilled workers are escaping the country en masse... It's too late to have the no fly zone. Obama chickened out at the optimal time before Russia committed to Syria. No fly zone is so 3-4 years ago. It's going to be 2017 soon.

That didn't work out against the Iranians as they waited it out and gained leverage. The Russians learning from the Iranians can do the same as they have far more economic and military clout for their sphere of influence than iran.

Russia is also building ties with China given both are struggling. US debt is tied to Chinas fate so the US can't push Russia/China too far or face consequences. That is why Trump suggesting a trade war with China is dangerous. More sanctions against Russia is also dangerous.
