OP, would it be accurate to say you have terrible self awareness?
OP: I'm the lovable scallywag that swapblasters people 300 times a raid!
Rest of raid: Yay! Thank God hes gone and his annoying "tricks" with him.
I bet alot of people didnt think it was funny and it sounds like you knew thta the raidleader ddint like it and still did it. Also during your fit what did you say really.
I only use swapblaster and toys during breaks.
If u continuously annoyed them by swapblasting them after they ate food I can understand why they benched u, but they shoulde communicated better and made a conversation before deciding wether or not to kick you.
I'm not going to pull a typical MMO-C and try and to say it was your fault, OP, but at the same time sometimes you really have to judge the temperature. It shouldnt've been bench-worthy but if you were being a nuisance and he wasn't in the mood for it then I'm guessing this isn't the first time this has ticked someone off and they were simply too kind to mention it. And I will say that usually if people are trying to do stuff or it's actually interfering with their ability to play the game, most people will get pissy about it. I personally don't, but you kinda have to tread lightly with how much you joke around.
But, it really just depends on your guild. At that point, you can just say "See ya, bitches" and bail that guild knowing that essentially anything is better than a guild like that.
Based on the description of his raid attitude and the fact that they're farming normal on their alts I assume he's not a mythic raider, because yeah, most mythic guilds would insta-kick you if you ever pulled any crap that would interfere with progression, even if they were lighthearted. But there are a ton of really relaxed heroic/normal guilds out there who dick around and joke and laugh about stuff.
Granted, based on what happened I assume (although I don't know) that this is the type of guy that doesn't know when he's the "that guy" of the raid group. I didn't say it because I honestly have no proof of that, but the fact that he was benched and nobody complained or said anything tells me that nobody really cared for him a whole lot.
Newsflash: guilds suck.
Back to you, Tom!
Right, so you were allowed to have your fun, but you decided to be irrational and had a fit when someone didn't think it was funny...sorry, but while it may well have been a tad excessive, you put yourself on the chopping block.
A fun item is just that, but you should also be able to respect that some other people may want people to have their head in the game and not cause distractions...so if you had to put it away for 1 raid with a sub RL, why not just suck it up and comply?
My guess is the OP's normal RL found it funny and silenced all complaints so he went unaware of how many people had grown to hate it (I know I would if it was done repeatedly to the point someone considered it their "thing"). When the Sub raid leader came in he got to hear all the complaints and decided to bench him for it. Question is, did the OP ask if he could get back in if he didn't use it before throwing a fit? If so they're dicks, if not, he is.
People get offended by anything and sometimes you can only leave to keep your sanity/seelenfrieden.
When i started wow again on the mop launch i joined a random semi "hardcore" guild.
After a few weeks i asked the warlock about his talents in bossfights, how and why he useing them because i was gearing my warlock and wanted to pug a bit.
2 days later my guildlead told me to come into the TS asap and they wanted to kick me because i asked about the warlock talents (the warlock told the guildlead about our little chat and thought i would to try to teach a good player how his class works...).
But i left the guild 1 month later anyway, i couldnt stand all the nagging about my low dps, all enrage wipes where my fault for doing 10k less dmg as the maintank (was playing Off-Tank).
No, he got kicked because he threw a fit and laid down an ultimatum after the raid leader told not use it. Now he is coming here to throw a fit, acting like the victim when in reality he is just suffering the consequences of his own terrible behavior. People got real sick of the swapblaster during Highmaul and BRF, and it's use largely died off because raid and guild leaders stopped tolerating people using them.
But the OP apparently felt that acting like a 8 year old was more important to him than focusing on raiding. He says he had to get special permission from the other raid leader to use it outside of progression. All that does is show that he lacks the maturity to be allowed in anything other than a troll guild. The raid leader in charge of his group tonight didn't want to put up with his trolling, and when he got sat he raged until he got gkicked.
He talks about loyalty, yet he fails to realize that others won't ever be loyal to him if he puts a premium on his ability to troll them. Him showing up and doing well on the meters is irrelavent when he pisses off the people around him.
You're probably not the first person thats been benched for swapblaster, definitely triggers some folks. Most enjoy it though. I avoid doing it during progression/serious raid times though. I'm not going to judge you on whether or not you should have been kicked over throwing a fit. IMO if you've been there that long you can patch things up and continue raiding with them if that's what you want
Either way, yea, I wouldn't get too caught up with loyalty. It's just a videogame, people come and go. The majority of the roster I raid with has only been there 1-2 years max, if that. Do remember that the leadership gets to set the rules

3years of swapblaster and other toy terror ended for that guild. They must feel liberated.
That's an awfully big generalization you're making there. I met a friend nearly 11 years ago in a Wailing Caverns pug. Now, 11 years later, he's moved from Texas to North Carolina because most of his friends—friends he met on WoW—live here. In fact, he's in the next room over.
You can absolutely make real, lasting friendships on WoW.
Obviously the OP is omitting some important details in order to garner online sympathy. If he was such a veteran and well-respected member of the guild they wouldn't have kicked him over something so trivial.
The swapblaster is most likely not the real cause, it was simply "the last straw the broke the camel's back" among other issues. In other words the OP is not as well liked in the guild as he thinks he is.
Having seen guild drama posts for a long time, posts like these usually end up distorted with a ton of personal bias and very little in the way of what actually happened.
When we looked at the relics of the precursors, we saw the height civilization can attain.
When we looked at their ruins, we marked the danger of that height.
