What is your ideal and favoured scenario:
1. Europe unifies more than now (in terms of foreign policy, among other things), creates a military of our own, and cooperates with our European neighbour, Russia, in every way possible, whilst making sure we keep their influence in the European sphere in check, but otherwise function as good as we can. In this scenario, we protect ourselves, we influence the world stage as much as anyone, and eventually establish partnerships with Middle Eastern states so as to better our and their futures by ensuring both our and their interests are advanced and protected.
2. We keep the status quo or fragment further, keeping our alliances with America and making it our sole "protector", and being unable to have meaningful economic and geopolitical influence. This, among many other things, means we especially have little say in what is going on in the Middle East, which means we can do pretty much nothing to prevent any chaotic situation akin to the current one down there, and will have to deal possibly with even worse consequences than we do now (i.e., with the terror attacks, refugee crisis, and more).
