    New Simcraft update broken?

I just updated Simcraft and have some odd results.

    Pre-Update I was simming at around 400k with EP/AP 104% mast and 40 Crit
    Post- Update It's around 385k

So I kept everything the same and did EP/EX and it's back to 400k

Not sure if I missed something, I do a lot of research but how is Ex 15k higher with those mast/crit values? I thought Ex was a low mass (80-100%) sort of thing but with high mast AP takes over.

    Is Simcraft wrong???

I pretty much had the exact same issue, with the same stats even. I'm struggling to figure out why exsang would suddenly be better again because I performed noticeably better in raid after switching to AP. So, my initial thought is simcraft may indeed be wrong... but I'm also really new to Simc, so waiting for someone who knows better to say something.

I'm with you on switching and getting better dps.

    UPDATE:

So After a lot of research and help in the Rogue Discord channel(thanks nyquiz) it appears that with the update, SimC calculates Agonizing Poison a bit differently(more accurately?) and thus Mastery is not as high a priority anymore, making Exasguinate better.

I simmed myself again and my stat priority changed from Crit>mast>verse>haste of yesterday to Crit>Verse>mast>haste today after the update, with a big variance between verse and mast(crit9.57 verse9.13 mast 7.38 haste6)

Gonna put on some more crit/verse gear and sim and see if my dps goes up, ill update

the simc was wrong programed in the past, because the gap between ep/ap and ep/exang was way to high. In practise, both specs have their strengths and weaknesses, but both are doing nearly the same dps +-5-10k.

There arent magic numbers, there was never a specific mastery number to aim for to make ep/ap more viable than ep/exang. Both specs are using the absolute same stat weights. But just to mention: ep/exang is a little bit more complex than ep/ap, if you aim for a equal dps.

I simmed EP/AP and then EP/Ex and they are not using the same stat weights.
    EP/AP is Crit>Verse>Mast>Haste and
    EP/EX is Crit>Mast>Verse>Haste

Dont use your own gear, use the best gear available for an specific item level. You will see both specs are using the exact same items in their bis lists.

But how do you know what the best gear is?

I'm just confused how EP/AP gave me 400k sim yesterday and today it gave 385k. And how today Ep/Ex is 400k and EP/AP is 385.
I use the same set of gear in all sims.

If what you wrote about how they had AP wrong before, then technically EX has been better this whole time, but I could swear I had a big dps increase when I switched to AP...

i played a long time only ep/exang before i switch to ep/ap the first time. ep/ap is just boring and is able to put as much dps as ep/exang which is a little more complex if you want to do big dips.

I've been getting some strange stat weights from simc as of the latest version.

As have I. I just simmed myself with scaling weights, and it gave me Mastery > Vers > Crit > Haste. That's with MP/AP (I like poison).

When I went EP>AP, it was still strange with Mastery ~= Vers ~= Crit > Haste. Am I missing something?

I'm getting vers> mastery >> crit >>> haste for EP/AP. Currently running a full stat weight sim on AMR to see what that spits out. I can't see any logical reason for vers to be beating mastery and crit.

When I look at the sims for 710-02, which has exsg over AP http://simulationcraft.org/reports/Raid_T19H.html the AP simulation has super low mastery stats which would essentially gimp the spec? Is this an oversight or am I reading it wrong. I would like to see the AP sim with high mastery which would potentially bring it higher than exag sim.

Ya I"m not sure why it's doing that with mastery.

I honestly think Simcraft is broken atm for this version.

I did EXTENSIVE dummy practice with EP/AP and EP/EX using the same gear (105Mast 40Crit) and EP/AP was better, not by much but it was better, whereas SimC says EP/EX is 15k better, Nope.

Looking for an update on this. I too am acquiring very weird results in the newest SimC build.

EP/AP was superior to EP/Exsang, but using the 710-02 update it's showing EP/Exsang as a 10-12k dps increase.

My stat weights shifted from Mast > Crit > Versa to Versa > Mast > Crit as EP/AP as well. Logically, it doesn't make sense to want more Versatility than Mastery for EP/AP... Something has to be wrong here.

Personally I trust AMR over Simcraft and it still has EP/AP beating Exsanguinate by the same margins as before.

    Definitely an error with Simcraft.

This is the same as me. I used to sim FAR ahead with EP/AP. Now EP/Ex is 15k ahead and iv only got better gear since.

Yeah, AMR has actually been relatively close with SimC so far in Legion until this recent update. I trust it too.

Is there any way to get AMR to sim stat weights faster? Shit takes like an hour on my toaster.

Assign more cores to AMR like you do with simc?
