The National Socialist Movement, one of the largest neo-Nazi groups in the United States, has chosen the Pennsylvania Capitol in Harrisburg as the location for their Fall Political Rally. But a counter event is planned to speak out against hate.
The group, which holds two national rallies a year, will hold their event from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 5. Butch Urban, chief of staff for NSM Commander Jeff Schoep, said the events are held in random spots with no "rhyme or reason" behind the locations.
"We have a good sized unit in Pennsylvania, so the guys wanted to do it up there," Urban said. "Harrisburg was the luck of the draw."
Urban said they don't discuss membership numbers or how many people may be attending the rally. Urban said the movement has members in all lower 48 states and units in 38 of the 48 states.
Years ago when I worked in private security there were a lot of guys who were openly racist. Wearing hoods on their facebook photos with all the usual right-wing rhetoric, etc.
Still have family in the area, one of my nephews went down there to see what was going on. Apparently they came out waving confederate flags and gave their usual round of endorsements for Trump, Duke and a few other racists that are running for office. They say this stuff is happening all over the country. Anyone else see one of these rallies?
