AFAIK, there's no evidence backing up that claim. Snopes has it as false. Given, we know people wrote Harambe in for president, just not how many. I'd suspect Ken Bone, Bernie, and a handful of others got written in, too.

People like to assume that votes for other than of the 2 main party candidates were "wasted" and could have gone to their preferred candidate, when there is an equal chance of those votes going to the candidate they didn't like.

I doubt that. It's pretty much impossible to hate both equally, especially when they are so different from each other. I think the people who voted for harambe or for a third party candidate did that because they thought they were sending a message. The problem is that that doesn't work, it won't change anything. If you want change you have to make sure to vote for that during the primaries. The general election is often about voting for the lesser of two evils. Originally Posted by Grym
