alot of emphasis is put on fluoride as being a key component of why toothpaste 'cleans' your teeth.
however a number of recent studies have shown that it is the act of brushing your teeth that cleans them, not having toothpaste on your toothbrush whilst doing so.
if this is true, then what reasons would they have for putting fluoride in a toothpaste when it is proven to lower IQ?
i am not a conspiracy theorist but if you was trying to dumb down a nation, a brilliant way to do it would be to put the chemical in a toothpaste and tell the public they need it to keep their teeth clean.

Fluoride is good for your teeth, but not for cleaning. Algae and other microparticles do the cleaning.
