Chain of Thrayn Retribution Paladin PTR

Hey, so Chain of Thrayn on PTR is double buffing Crusade, resulting in a pretty strong 4 million dps opener.


I dont have enough posts to post link, but you can just go on youtube and search "Chain of Thrayn PTR"

It is buffing each crusade stack from 3.5% to 6%, and additionally giving a flat 25% dmg buff during crusade.

It's doing more than just double-dipping - it's somehow granting ~13-1400% haste at max stacks, in addition to the broken damage increase.

If Crusade survives to live in it's current form, it'll no doubt be fixed.

More likely, they have a rework planned for Crusade (just look back at the 7.1 PTR, although hopefully they've adjusted the plans since then), and just haven't bothered fixing the interaction with the old spell because it'll never go live alongside the buffed CoThrayn.

Just tested this on ptr. Chain doesn't do anything to Crusade. At max stacks it's 52,5% increase just as in live. However normal AW is buffed to 60% just as the belt says.

Probably taken away while they try to fix the issue which caused the absurdity in the first place. (atleast I hope they are fixing it).

yes , chain dosent work with crusade atm on the P.T.R. I notified no dmg changes between current version of the game and ptr with chain on 3min sim.

So there is a buff icon during crusade saying we get 25% dmg. but its actually not buffing any dmg now

Nah , tooltip is right , its on AW and on crusade, depend wich you choose. but its atm no dmg increase by crusade.

Currently from my testing on the PTR
Belt adds a buff called chain of thrayn
Belt works with base wings.
Belt does not currently (DEC 2nd) work with crusade even though it's buff shows up.

So how it is working now with crusade is, once you pop crusade with chain, you get a 25% dmg buff and a 3.5% dmg and haste buff since you start at 1 stack. So at 1 stack you actually now have 25% dmg buff and 3.5% haste buff, once the stack buff is giving more than 25% dmg and haste , the chain of thrayn dmg buff stops working with the crusade stacks.

So while Chain of Thrayn tooltip says it gives 25% extra dmg during crusade, its actually more like "gives 25% dmg until your crusade gives you more dmg % than that". So please fix blizz

Is it possible that the legendary is supposed to be that way? Make us pick divine purpose over crusade, because the 25% additional flat damage makes it better/similar than crusade as a baseline, giving us a 'free' divine purpose?

It's most likely just bugged, and will be fixed in an upcoming PTR patch, or for live. I'm *fairly* sure it's intended to work with Crusade.
It's just the most logical explaination, but then again, it's Blizzard, so who really knows.

Having the belt work with AW and not with Crusade would be a very odd choice. Most prolly its just bugged atm

Still not working with the new build. i dont know if they wanna apply the 25% on the 52.5 % ( 15 stacks of crusade ) or if they wanna do it directly on spells , but in the both ways it seems to dont work at all.

I hope some guy gonna open a thread on offical forums cause i cant do it ( EU account ) im not sure they are informed about that.

the only one thread about that says its fixed wich is obviously not the case.
