    Rate before i buy.

Looking into upgrading my current PC a bit for Christmas.

    Currently i run a I5 3570K 12gigs of DDR3 1866 on a Z77 pro4M motherboard.
i'm looking to upgrade to this build.

I'm planning to keep my current 980TI
I'm going for a ATX motherboard for added PCI lanes.

I picked the I7-6700K over the 6800K for the higher clock speeds.
I doubt ill actually get any use out of 2 extra cores.

Going to get a PCI-E SSD aswell. any idea if this could conflict with the GPU?

A 3550k isnt a thing, do you mean 3570k or 3550? And to be honest whatever the answer is, both of those CPU's are still very capable in 2016. Because of how popular mobile devices have gotten in the past 5 years advancement in desktop processors has almost came to a complete halt, as power consumption is the main focus.

I would suggest you keep your PC the way it is unless something is broken.

Sorry for the typo. It is a 3570K.

So it's not worth upgrading atm?
How about PCI SSD's? i'm hearing speeds of 2.3gb/s.
Need more SSD space so was thinking of trying the PCI ones instead.

I also believe pci-e ssd's are a complete waste of money. They are nearly indistinguishable from a normal sata III ssd, you would only really tell a difference in large file transfers or something along those lines. Your whole PC is still considered really high end, just put an overclock on that 3570k and go buy a HDR tv

Really tho i get wanting to upgrade your PC, i am on an even older PC (2500k) but i know it would be wasting money for the most part, i would barely tell any difference. Im waiting to see what intel does with kaby lake in 2017, apparently they are supposed to be really good overclockers.
