American Millenials earns so little compared to the Norwegian ones. I havnt calculated with cost of living, but I guess Norwegians have more left in the bank account at the end of the month.

How is age 34 a millenial?

You guys also have Universal Healthcare and Free Education. Here in America we like to penalize those not born to fortunate parents by using rhetoric that if they work hard enough they'll be able to succeed....and if they do succeed and the great Capitalism puts them out of work it's their own fault.
As a 30 year old making $110000, that image makes me feel better about myself.
I guess I fall right in that median. I worked for my dad's auction house from the time I was 15 to 19, but he only gave me money here and there. Then I was a data research assistant at my university for about 6 months, but the guy who I was an assistant to got fired so my job became invalidated. That paid $10/hr. At the same time as being an assistant I had become an intern at my university's newspaper, moved up to staff writer and then became the Lifestyle section editor after I left the assistant job. It didn't have an hourly pay, but I think it came down to like $14/hr and gave me experience managing my own team of writers. I had to resign the editor job when I graduated (It was entirely student run), but now I'm starting back as a grad student and I'm applied to a few part times. I'm working towards becoming a professor at a university, but I'm also open to and fascinated by educational new-media outlets like CrashCourse on YouTube. I'm 22 right now.
Unpopular Opinion and anecdotal evidence:
This seems about right. Working out in my area, that is pretty much Exactly what I would expect. I don't see people making lots of money, or anywhere near 25k a year until they are in their mid to late 30's. Sometimes early 30's, but mid to late is more common for having a good wage. Reason being that all of the work around me Does have chances to progress, but it takes a solid 6+ years of working there consistently before getting anywhere near that range. I mean, this isn't really shocking given a time where its a fight just to get a company to pay more then minimum wage.Just looking at this you can see the evidence of what we are going through.
That said, this study is missing a Lot of insightful information. For instance, how many of them are college graduates and what types of fields did they choose to go to college for.
That being said, regardless of age or degree, there are simply not a lot of homeowners in that age bracket. Housing prices have skyrocketed and people simply cant afford to buy a home. Take this chart for example. You clearly see a massive jump in the cost of homes around 2008 or so. Even comparing the first link and the second, you can see between 2000 and 2014 the price of the average home jumped by 50%
I can see this study as being true personally, but I want more information regarding the cost of living and types of jobs people are having now a days. I went on a tangent, but my bottom line is simple: I have seen a lot of evidence in the areas I have lived that support this study.
It's so obvious why this happens.
Population Increase is the number one reason for this.
As population expands, in real numbers the elitist class grows very slowly, the middle class grows a little quicker, but right down the bottom, the working class grows rapidly.
You'll notice these numbers are percentages. The real number of people moving on with life is actually increasing, but the percentages are dropping because the masses of working class get stuck.
Population growth doesnt grow proportionally by class. The masses are pouring into the working class.
This is the number one cause of the above situation.
If you aren't a Socialist by age 20, you have no heart. If you are still a Socialist by age 40, you have no head. The Left MUST appeal to the low paid white working class male if they want to regain ground. Rejecting them and castrating them in favour of a cheaper immigrant worker has backfired spectacularly.
because youngpeople nowadays are half retarded and think that they deserve good know what treatment just because they breath - they have 0 real work experience (no serving fries in mcdonalds doesnt count as work experience if im looking for accountant or IT guy , same as vlounteering in animal shelter etc etc it may look nice on college application but from work persective its waste of time. ) yet they think they deserve 6 figure yearly salary just because others do .

you also have crazy good scholarship systems for those who indeed work hard and want to succed. so you point is kinda invalid. either way people need to put very hard work into education and be best of best or put very hard work in blue collar work . $$$ will never fall from sky without hard work.
life is hard. always was always will be. stop trusting other when they tel lyou everything will be ok - no it wont unless you have rich parent with connections - if you dont work your butt off and you will get somehwere in life. its simple.

comparing any country to Norway is as pointless as comparing it to ZEA etc - if not oil their standard of living woudl be completly different.
Does that graph count in that due to inflation, people 30 years ago (in that image) earned more vs. living costs than they do today?
And since that image is off by 11 years, the difference has only been starkly more represented, as in, even less monetary value received vs. effort given in.
