Weak Auras- How did you set yours up.

Looking to do some weakauras up and wondering how I should go by on doing so.

Would love if people could link how they set theirs up. I am looking more for pictures over strings but strings are still welcome.

I main frost but I want to set it up for all three specs, want it to be helpful and pretty.

I made an entirely custom setup for all 3 specs, but I use the same formula for all of them. So far it has been working fairly nice:

My WAs are a bit of a hybrid between something slightly "artistic" and functional.

In general I tend to follow this pattern:
- Big spec based cooldowns on the left
- Not very relevant procs on the left
- Revelant procs on the right
- Small spec-based CDs and dot/buff/debuff spec based tracking on the right
- Class-wide CDs, runes, RP and HP on the bottom
- Special, very visible active CD textures on top (cant see that one on the screenshot, I would have to make a new one)

Whenever I want a WeakAura I just look through the WA's people have already made on Wago and just choose the ones I like and test them out. I'm way too lazy to make make a weakaura for myself.

I put everything I need near my character and have the rest of my UI clean and mostly empty with hidden action bars which is simple enough as a DK because of how runes work with our abilities.

My main focus was the rune UI, because I'm really not a fan of any of the current DK rune addons. I used Acherus during WotLK, which was discontinued so just built my own version of it with WA.

I honestly haven't played much of my blood or unholy specs lately, but I'm working on updating them in a similar manner.

I put all my CDs in between my player and target frames, and all procs above the player frame.

I haven't uploaded it. There are probably still a few things I'm going to modify and nudge around still. I may upload a suite after I finish the blood and unholy setups.

I completely understand how you dislike the runes on the client itself, built myself something around it as well (might post it when i get home, think some people might appreciate it). The thing that i really like about your UI, is those KM and Rime procs that slowly fade, I'll send you a DM for those if you dont mind me!

I try to keep it simple and minimalist.

Just had to redo mine since my hard drive died and I didn't back up my UI (yeah yeah). But this is basically how they've been for ages.
I just use a block of icons to track what I think is relevant for that spec as far as cooldowns go, diseases are off to the right as a timer bar, icy talons is a timer bar now, and the runes and RP are right there with them. That's it You too can be a great DK with just that small bit of information, the key is just to keep everything near your runes/RP since that's what determines what you're pressing.

Not sure if Weak auras or tell me when (maybe both) but a lot of successful DKs been using the Compact Runes' addon. I know I've been trying to talk about it everytime a thread like this comes up, but it's seriously one of the best addon you may ever get.

It's so compact, simple, and have so many useful informations. And you can slightly customize it. I'd strongly recommend it.

The thing with WAs is that you can very efficiently recreate the same functionality as the Compact Runes in your own WAs - essentially custom tailoring such functionality for your own needs to the very last detail while cutting out a whole addon. Of course, Compact Runes or any other addon is easier to setup and use if you dont want to set up your own WAs, but in a long run, WAs (or TMW) might be better, because you can set it up as you wish.
