If it weren't for Reagan and his ramped up war on drugs, we wouldn't have these horrendous prejudices against low income residents. The fault for the inadequacies of San Franciscans rests solely on the malicious doctrines of the right.

Can we just start handing out bans for these bait threads, please?

It's just an endless spam of nonsense now.

From what I've read, people in San Francisco don't seem to hate immigrants, but rather the gentrification that comes when tech workers move in, be it high skilled immigrants or natives.

Except this dudes, they just did not want poor people on their neighborhoods.

This thread had the potential from the article to actually be something of discussion, but the obvious bait and hatred turned it into another "AHAH! WE CAUGHT YOU!" type threads.

We get it, people are left, people are right, we don't need a eureka moment to realize that both sides are hypocrites in some instances.

It would have been very easily been made with a different title. Instead we get an openly hostile bias thread with no discussion.

There would be no threads then.

Having visited SF, the amount of (apparently) homeless folks around there is pretty staggering to begin with. Nor does it make any reasonable amount of sense to have an influx of immigrants into one of the worst COL cities in the country. Next.

It's like HoAs. People pay a lot of money to not have poor people or people that won't take care of the area to ruin the value.

lol there is a huge difference between pro-immigration and wanting section-8 housing next to you.click bait is click bait. move on.

This is not people disallowing foreigners living next to them, its purely based on property values. Rich vs poor. Immigration has nothing to do with it.

But lets spin....The neighborhood may be progressive. But look at the people sitting there...they are 50 +...aka trump voters. Allot of 50+ people are scared of everyone one. So nothing new.

No one hates teh immigrants for themselves, not even the KKK. They hate the baggage and cultural change they bring with them. San Francisco, a HIGHLY liberal city supports immigration, as long as they don't have to suffer the consequences of their support for it. Offcourse, their problem is with tech workers, techo workers are competing for their jobs, the same way rest of the u.s. hates low skill workers, since they compete for the same jobs. Liberals are hypocrates. We should put all the illigal immigrants, Syrian Refugees and dreamers in san frinsco alone, near the same rich people who support immigration. Let people who support irresponsible decision, suffer the consequences.

Then why support this irresponsible immigration policy in the first place? YOU know liberals are hypocrates on immigration, then why support it in the first place? Can you NOT be a hypocrate?

Kinda the opposite in this case, less wealthy individuals preventing individuals who would raise the valure of their land to move in. Either way in a moral sense I've never like gentrification.

RICH liberals who support poor people immigration, while they want them to stay away from their homes so they don't suffer the consequences.

^ This, along with the OP trying to lump all liberals in with a handful of homeowners in San Francisco, probably the furthest left city in America.

I see that type of flawed argument brought up a lot, bringing up a small example and then trying to extrapolate it into applying to a huge group.

This is perhaps the most important point you've made. If SF residents don't want to be gentrified (I don't really read the article as they fearing cultural baggage or competition for jobs), then they should make policy to protect their interests.

    Sigh
The problem with SF has to do with real estate prices and the effect the tech industry has on it, from boycotts and protest of things like google buses to other confrontations. It has very little to nothing to do with immigrants and more to do how the local residents hate what SV has done to the state. The immigrants in this case are just collateral damage of a bigger confrontation.
