Because the expected deal was around $3.7B anyways.

Because said expected deal also included 12 years+ of maintenance and repair costs, not just costs for the two Air Force One jets.

Trump lied about the $4B, plain and simple, so today's "news" is not news at all. It's literally nothing.

With something like Air Force One, it's a very big possibility that the price can escalate over time, which is not an uncommon thing with these defense contracts. Trump got the final word here and said it's not going to happen. So Trump is in fact making sure that we are not over spending.... apparently to your dismay.

Possibility is not fact, the only reason Trump mentioned Boeing is because they talked badly about him and he felt the need to lash out. If he takes on Lockheed Martin and bring F-35 cost down then he would have my support at least.

Which doesn't mean much of anything considering your own article states that the $3.2 billion was the projected procurement costs (for 2 planes) from a report made back in March. This also coincides with the Atlantic snippet I posted where the cost projected for one plane was $1.65 billion.

I mean if we want to go gung-ho over the 100 million differential from the $3.2 projected in March and the $3.3 that was projected two months prior to make this sound like Trump did more good than he actually did by all means.

This is like Carrier all over again. There was already an agreement in place and a price tag out there...Trump is trying to take credit for something someone else had already done.
