Mythic+ 15 Black Rook Hold with Fortified (Sanguine/Volcanic)

Any tips on this dungeon? Got it as a 15 key and trying to complete the timer. The group that falls onto the ground before the second boss always wipes us until we can reset it and so does the hallway right after the second boss. We're using invisibility pots at the start to the first boss and using hero on the first pack I mentioned that wipes us. Our comp is prot warrior, havoc, assassination, elemental, holy priest.

    Any tips would be great!

You can shackle one of the dudes that drops down (holy priest) just to ease the pain a little. Line of sight and watching the arrow barrages are important too.

The pack after the 2nd boss like was said interrupt the channel or the tank has no chance. Earthquake in general is completely OP for these packs, it knocks mobs on their ass so many times and doesn't DR.

2nd boss, one add can be shackled for the whole fight.

Make time by pulling more than 1 pack of wyrmtongue guys when you have cooldownsö.

Pull the first bat guys down to the stairs so no new bats aggro. Dps the bats first. You should be able to aggro 3 / 3 and clear it in 2 pulls.
During Smashspite, kite him during the 100% damage increase. He can hit really hard.

Trash after smash spite can be AOD well, if you have cooldowns ready, either its 4-4-4 pull or 6 - 6 for 2 pulls. This can save time even if your tank dies.

Final boss hits extremely hard, all the way until you have the buff. The first shadowboltvolley will oneshot the priest, possibly ele / dh through cooldown. If youre having troubles getting to this phase use dps cooldowns in Phase 1. It can also be fairly random and deny you the run if the purple stuff comes badly.

Oh sorry, youre on US and have Fortified.

Dont do it. Tried it last week. Ive talked with a number of mythic 15-18 clearing groups, and BRH / Nel with fortified are among the hardest to complete intime. BRH is especially unforgiving with the randomness on trash. Archers will twoshot your group, Blade dance will - at some point channel through. The fel guys hit like a truck.

BRH is one of those dungeons you dont realise how hard the trash is if the fights take 1-2 minutes and mobs cant be killed with 50% stun uptime.

if my observations are correctly, fortified double dips the trash dps. While bosses are doing around +214% additional damage on +15 tyrannical, trash mobs doing like +311% additional damage at +15 with fortified instead of 234%.

    formulas:

    tyrannical +15: 1+1,94+0,2 = 3,14
    fortified +15 (looks like): 1+1,94*1,4 = 4,11
    fortified +15 (should be): 1+1,94+0,4 = 3,34

the difference of trash dps with fortified and without is really crazy. at +13 with fortified the trash is doing way more damage than +15 without fortified, what were not possible if the formula would be like the tyrannical one.

Both tyrannical and fortified percentages are added multiplicatively on top of the usual +15 damage/hp increases.

However, fortified is 40% damage 20% health, while tyrannical is 20% damage 40% health.

You have a decent composition for it. Priest healers are really nice for this as they can shackle undead as a CC breaker. I don't remember the name of the mobs, but the ones that do the blade dance thing really need to be interrupted or stunned as soon as they get the cast off. Luckily it's a second and a half cast, so it's pretty easy to time. Knock backs work as well, so always keep an eye out for it. As a general rule you want the archers to cast the barrage as it's far less damage (it's avoidable) than letting them randomly pelt arrows at people in your group. The bonebreaker mobs (that do the frontal cleave AoE stun) usually cast their commanding shout (+50% health) when they finish their cast. If you stun them or knock them back right before the cast finishes they will delay using it for quite sometime. This makes the pack die a lot quicker. Keep in mind that no matter what you do eventually they are going to cast it anyway.

As a general rule that's how you should approach the blade dancing mobs before the second boss, and the fel guard mobs before the third boss. Let the cast go off, but immediately stun or CC them. If you do it while the channel goes off they just immediately cast it again, which eventually is going to cause deaths.

Second boss is easy and third boss is difficult but not too bad. Just make sure people have a CD up when they get charged, and your tank doesn't need to rush right back into him after the charge as it builds his rage faster. Last boss is literally nuke bugs immediately and pop every defensive CD possible before the first shadow bolt bollet.

The timer is actually fairly forgiving. We did this on 14 last time these affixes were up, and while painful we finished with 3-4 minutes left (keep in mind this was nearly 2 months ago). It would have been painful, but we wouldn't have minded a 15 of this instance because it felt doable.

That said I still wouldn't do it. It's certainly possible but it's an incredibly frustrating instance with fortified. One small mistake with interrupts on the blade dancer dudes and your whole group will fall over. Same with the fel guard trash going to the third boss. The mobs before the last boss aren't a joke either, as them getting a coup de grace off will hurt your tank pretty badly as well. Keep in mind all of those instances can be overcome with good play, the frustrating part of the instance is the archers who randomly target people and nuke them down. In the double packs of them, if they decide to attack the same target you're going to have a death.

Nelths, BRH and HoV are pretty cancerous on pretty high fortified levels. Nelths is the easiest of those three, but the scorpions at the end are really brutal. We would have +3 a 13 Nelths if we didn't wipe twice to scorpion packs at the end of the dungeon lol. I hate fortified personally. Generally it makes runs slower and it's the harder affix of the two, especially in instances where mobs don't always target tanks.
