Nah, I haven't thought about them, but now that you mention, it is quite interesting.

Maybe it's the panic of being paralyzed and other uncomfortable sensations that create the monsters. After all, you are still basically asleep, and we see tons of nonsense while asleep, even if we don't always remember them. So your brain goes to horror-mode because of the dreadful situation.

And that every morning, due to influence totally out of your control, whether you recognize it or not, your actions the following day are directly affected, effectively making that person not you anymore?

Do you ever wonder what purpose other entities within your dreams actually serve? Sure they seem harmless to the sleeping mind, but if you really think about it, they seem to be literally harvesting information from your unprotected, unaware mind.

It's quite literally a dog and pony show put on for you in order to determine how you react to certain situations. And what I assert, is that these entities are often quite demonic in nature- if you let your guard slip up that much.

For example, last night I dreamt I was among 3 or 4 other regular human beings, seemingly having a friendly discussion. Suddenly, for whatever reason, my dream instantly became lucid, and whatever illusion it was that they had used to contact me began to fade. I suddenly was able to see their true forms as their faces began to morph. Totally malicious. They all just stood there as I looked upon them in confusion, and they looked back with huge, sinister grins. They seemed to have gotten what they came for, and almost seemed to have pity for such a simple creature. The scary part is, I couldn't remember what we had been talking about or what information I had divulged to them. Next thing I know (or rather don't), they are gone and I am dreaming totally unaware again.

You can't tell me this wouldn't bother you.
When you dream there are no rules,
people can fly, anything can happen.
Sometimes there is a moment as you are awakening
when you become aware of the real world around you,
    but you are still dreaming.
You may think you can fly but you do better not try.
    People can fly.

I experienced sleep paralysis for an extensive period and never have seen a demon or such things.
Night terrors and panic attacks during day time was very common for me at the time.
It happens when your mind is not asleep, but the body is either sleep or falling asleep, as the body enters the relax mod, it cannot move and the brain which recognizes this starts making up reasons, from a heart attack to something pinning you down, and this leads to a negative feedback which will cause the terror. Just like when you start hearing voices if the environment is near perfect silence.
It can be caused by anxiety, bipolar, some meds or lack of sleep.

6+ months clean from hard drugs, I think. I didn't mark it on a calendar. Minimal alcohol (hard drug imo), caffeine, nicotine, pot, and refined sugars I especially avoid. Pretty sure I've got permanent brain damage though.

I'm not complete serious but it currently is a working theory of mine. I just wanted outside (alien I might even consist it) input.

It's rather terrifying to be unable to move. If you're in dreaming in that state you will imagine the worst. It just illustrates how little control we actually have over ourselves. We are mostly automatic creatures.

I'm not sure exactly why sleep paralysis happens but I think it has something to do with part of your brain waking up when the rest of it isn't ready. When you're sleeping your body is sort of paralyzed so you don't get up and walk around. Although some people can and do sleep walk. I did when I was a kid. I also have had sleep paralysis sometimes. It is scary at first and it feels like you have to fight to wake up and move. But once you know what it is it's not as scary. I still don't like it though. Sleeping in hot rooms or getting dehydrated while sleeping tends to cause it for me.

Your mind is just jacking off. Nothing to be concerned about. Its nice to be on cruise control.

    I don't remember my dreams, ever. Haven't for about 6 or 7 years. =\

Times when I wake up from a nightmare / terror, only to not even know what the dream was but unable to go back to sleep for the rest of the night.

No? Since this "other being".. is you.. and is in control all the time. Your conscience can't do anything by it self, it doesn't have the ability to control anything at all. Your subconscience is the one controlling you and everything you do.

Why would you be worried about what you do when sleeping? shouldn't you be worried about the fact that your conscience mind isn't in control of your life?.

I love sleeping. I'm not a lucid dreamer, I think I have tried it twice, but both times I woke up almost at once.

Wish I was a regular lucid dreamer

I do not remember any of my dreams, normally I just get to sleep and wake up few moments later (morning).
