Ret in 7.1.5

Hi Paladins,

So I'm looking for a new alt/main for PvE and I just leveled my ret.
I have some questions that you guys may be able to answer?

How is ret looking right now? And in 7.1.5?
What are the strenghts and weaknesses of the spec? Does it do best on ST, cleave or aoe?

And if anyone has any tips or tricks please feel free to let me know
